I've said it before but I have to say it again, I cannot believe how warm it is for January.

It is warm enough to get away without the heating on. I am really concerned about what this means for the temperatures next summer & global warming in general. Never in my life have I been able to sail through January with just a woolly jumper & scarf. It's insane.

Bloody freezing here in West Coast Scotland. Heavy winds, floods, non stop rain and hail 🥶

My sibling in Sydney said there wasn't one proper hot day at all last year. So it seems some places are hotter, some cooler.

Yes 13 degrees today. Very mild for January. I too fear the summer will be scorching. It's quite scary when you properly stop and think about it. I think we'll likely have another run of 40 degree + days. Drought and the rest of it. The next big war will be for water not oil (in my opinion) I hope I'm wrong.

Absolutely - I have friends who work in renewables tech and they said this is 100% what will be happening probably in 15-20 years time.

I have found Feb and March to be the freezing months the last few years

LlynTegid · 11/01/2023 19:13

This week and last, not next week though.

All these posters maintaining it was freezing all Feb last year or whatever (blah blah blah as Greta would say) need to look at the global trends. The chart I attached that brought scorn from one poster clearly shows the trends. It basically means more extremes. Poster who mentioned Australia - the clue is in the name - climate change, everything is becoming more extreme as the overall climate heats.

Another cold day here.

It was brass monkeys just outside Belfast today. 4 degrees and a wind that would cut you in two.
