Anyone else?

Just watched them go I really high suddenly then down again. I'd say they released the rockets.

GetOffMyDoorJack · 09/01/2023 23:11

Watching Sky News, this is very exciting!

whatadoodledo · 09/01/2023 23:12

Yep they've done it! Smile

pinneddownbytabbies · 09/01/2023 23:14

Hooray, they did it!

mistopheles · 09/01/2023 23:18

Shame we can't see the rocket on Flightradar24 now it has separated! Incredible- now travelling at nearly 10,000mph.

LiveRightNow · 09/01/2023 23:23

Stared at the sky westward but couldn't see anything. But actually very clear here.

KenAdams · 09/01/2023 23:40

This is so boring with the constant hold music. At least have the stage slide up or something.

Paq · 09/01/2023 23:43

I'm here in person at Newquay airport at the launch event. Was very emotional.

sawthewholeofthemoon · 09/01/2023 23:44

Anyone else a bit disappointed with 30ish posts and one thread about such a significant milestone compared to how many there are on other 'news' ?

Oh wow! That must have been amazing. It's so much more than just watching a plane take off!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 09/01/2023 23:45

How lovely @Paq!

MrsSkylerWhite · 09/01/2023 23:46

Good news amidst all of the gloom.
making us homesick though 😁

Paq · 09/01/2023 23:48

Very, very proud of the team who made it happen. Some of them have barely seen their families in the last few months, so much work went into the launch.

There are lots of kids here, hopefully some of them will be inspired to study for a space related career ☺️

PuttingDownRoots · 09/01/2023 23:49

Being in Newquay must have been brilliant.

I only found out about this at 7pm today from a chance news link on Facebook. There has been no fanfare really.

I was very excited to see one of engineers on board was a woman! Great role model for girls (It said they had been visiting schools in Cornwall to talk about it)

Yes I was. Lots of waffle about the RF and very little about such a massive historical moment.

No, not really. This is important and will remain so forevermore. The other ‘news’ is tomorrow’s chip paper.

strugglingdaily · 09/01/2023 23:54

Watched it from 9.30 ish. My space need son made sure of that. Need a trip to Cornwall next time

MrsSkylerWhite · 09/01/2023 23:54

Oh dear, that’s disappointing!

GetOffMyDoorJack · 09/01/2023 23:56

Oh dear, breaking news that there has been an anomaly preventing the rocket from reaching orbit.

TheABC · 09/01/2023 23:56

DS has been covering it at school and insisted that we stay up to watch it. 😀

Hopefully the first of many.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 09/01/2023 23:58

oh. oops. Wonder where it will land. The telemetry was going a bit nuts.

IDontCareMatthew · 10/01/2023 00:01

Well I went for a bath and missed the rockets! Thought it was midnight?

Glad it was successful

Brrrrrrrrrrrr · 10/01/2023 00:02

Aaaand it failed 😕

boxingdayisbest · 10/01/2023 00:02

Oh no such a shame if it's gone wrong. My son will be CERY disappointed.

Paq · 10/01/2023 00:06
