Anyone got COVID and a very sore throat?

Have felt ill since Wednesday and tested positive yesterday. Feel pretty ropey but this sore throat is something else, I can’t swallow without pain unless I’m on painkillers. I’m on Strepsils and drinking lemon and honey to soothe it which helps. I’m on day 4 of this sore throat and I wish it’d bugger off! Anyone want to commiserate with me?!

I might get some tests tomorrow.

I've got a sore throat like razor blades. I've got no tonsils and it's like when I used to get tonsillitis. And my ears are all blocked up.

Thought it was just he start of yet another cold type thing

I've finally got my hands on a test and its negative but to be honest I think I'm nearly over the nasty bug so still not sure if it actually was Covid or not.

Razor blades really is the only description! Amazing how something you take for granted for so long, swallowing, can become so terrifying and the sight of an innocent tube of Pringles so horrific!

Day I tested was the worst sore throat
Then coughing constantly for a day
Now wiped out, chesty cough, breathless, upset stomach
6 vaccines, my last was September and anti virals

The positive line came up within about 3 seconds

Oh and I caught it Christmas Day, sore throat Tuesday, tested positive Wednesday evening

I tested earlier today. I've got a really sore throat and that funny feeling of cold and dry in my nostrils when I breathe. Test was negative but I'm not convinced. Had covid at the beginning of the year and I'd say this feels like it did in the beginning then. I'll maybe test again in a few days if it still feels the same.

I haven’t got any tests but my throat has been awful for days now. Tickly cough as it feels like I am breathing in dust, generally run down. Sounds like it could be covid then.

On day 15
can barely swallow.Breathing hurts.
massive temperature
feel absolutely awful
razor blades doesn’t come close
ears hurt. Everything hurts.
wondering when I should see a dr. Hate the idea of taking up an appointment.
Night nurse is a gift from the gods. At least you can sleep a little. Although I keep hallucinating from time to time, not fun when I can’t tell if I am asleep and dreaming or not.

Glad the anti vitals are working for you @Pelo22 . Were they prescribed by GP?
The sore throat has thankfully improved by about 50% overnight. The pressure in my ears is bad but I don’t think I’ve got an infection as there’s not really any pain. That said I’ve just been looking at ear poppers on line, but they’re so expensive. A good cough has just released a bit of pressure which is progress I guess.
DH has just bought me some breakfast. He doesn’t appear to have caught it.

Day 15 @Swissmountains ? Poor you! I’d try and get some medical advice that sound horrendous. I hope you’re soon on the mend.

@blossomtree323 111 sorted them, they sent a referral to the covid medicine delivery unit and then they rang me to check I was eligible

New symptom for me, got out of bed today and felt dizzy and faint. I can't seem to be out of bed for long before the same happens again! Anyone else? It's making me feel anxious which I know isn't helping!!

I'm on liquid food only today my throat is so sore. And I've had little blisters come up on my face. Almost like cold sores. I've never had a cold sore before though.

Any DH got a test and it's negative. So must some other horrible bug 🦠

Sore throat was my only real covid symptom but what a sore throat it was! Worse one I’ve ever had. It would literally wake me up in the night it was so painful. I basically kept alternating neurofen and paracetamol, also gargled with iodine, took difflam pastilles and difflam spray. Then on about day 5 I woke up and it was gone. Oh the relief!

This was my experience.

I even took a spoonful of liquid morphine in desperation and it made no difference! It was agony then after 5 days it disappeared.

I tested negative yesterday but gave the worst sore throats and thickly cough. I haven't slept for days because of the coughing.

Yep, DD17 has been very dizzy/faint too. I haven’t had that personally. Just feels like another bad cold with a very annoying cough and an inability to taste anything!

I had this with Covid, it passed after about two days but was just awful - like swallowing shards of glass. Honey and lemon was the only thing I could drink. Hope it’s better really soon

@FlairBand I don't no. I do feel "ok" and I'm on anti virals. Just wanting to sleep a lot and not really do much. The faint feeling comes and goes

Hope it clears soon, if you can get an O2 monitor it will help to flag anything up or put mind at rest. Speak to 111 if you’re not sure, take care

FFS

I tested negative for COVID this morning. However I still feel like absolute shit and now my ear is really aching. Can’t feel if it’s just pressure or infection. I’ve had the pressure for 7 days already so I’m waiting a call back from 111. Solidarity to those with COVID, Flu or a bad winter bug 😫.
I’d appreciate some company as DH has gone to bed, actually want to cry right now! I feel so pathetic 😭

I've tested negative now and still feel shite
GP has signed me off for a week, booked blood tests for tomorrow and referred me to the covid at home monitoring thing

Mostly just short of breath but my ear hurts too Confused
