Can you please recommend your toaster to me - especially if it's long-lasting?

Our £9 toaster has died after 12 years. It was bought as a stop gap and was really ugly. But it refused to die until now. I can see lots of shiny looking ones online but which ones stand the test of time? Only want a 2 slice one as the 4 slice ones look enormous.

Thanks

We had a very expensive dualit, it lasted less than 5 yes. Replaced with a cheap Tesco device which has been going strong for 10 yrs.

Thanks everyone. Can see Dualit is standing out here but a few others to consider as well.

It's a Dualit 4 slice. £15 from a charity shop.

Although I’d agree a Dualit, MIL had one for many years, we have a Russel Hobbs in the classic design that’s 20+ years old.
if it should ever go wrong we’ve an identical spare that the DCs used when at Uni. years ago. The Russell Hobbs ones are cheaper than Dualit.

Also Dualit, a 4 slice which is around 20 years old. We bought it from Costco and as part of the deal received 2 toasting cages for making toasted sandwiches in it. They do make lovely cheese toasties.

Dualit here too - had mine for over 15 years.

Our £10 Philips is still going strong after 22 years.
