As the title says.... horrendous blocked nose/ sinuses - Sudafed tablets pretty useless .. don't want to use nasal spray really as issues in the past where nose ends up addicted to this and makes it worse in the end!
Anyone have any helpful remedies please? Suffering 🤒

Sinutab j agree is much better than sudafed. Also really good for hangovers. The facial massage does help too when paired with a decent facial oil for enough slip. just Google something on YouTube and have a go. The sticking your thumbs right up under your cheeks move really helps me. I don’t find steaming really helps me but I think it depends which bit of your sinuses gets blocked.

I’ve previously found CS gas to be a vey effective nasal unblocker.

You may need to carry out some kind of public order offence/resistIng arrest, in order to access the benefits though.

Intrigued as to how you know? Although if you train as a Police Officer don’t you get sprayed with it at some point?

It's awful isn't it. I can't use Sudafed either anymore. I use saline spray, antihistamine tablet and facial steamer. A dab of olbas oil under the nostril sometimes helps but heat is the best.

I had this for weeks only thing cleared it was antibiotics sorry. Is it discoloured?

I have terrible sinuses and won’t use nasal sprays, like you I’ve had real issues with them
before. My top tip is to use steam. Head over a bowl of steaming water, put Vicks in if you want, two thirds boiling water and one third cold water. Honestly, it’s a magic formula. Hope it works for you too.

Methyl crystals which you put in water (just don't ask for crystal meth like I did the first time I bought some 🤦🏼‍♀️)

😭😭😭😭

I served in the forces. But with the time it takes to go through the recruitment process, never mind the weeks of basic training before you reach the point where you have a whirl around the gas chamber, means that route is probably not a viable option for prompt sinus relief.

Much easier to start some kind of riot, or mass brawl situation. Purely for medicinal purposes, you understand?

Nftft, but
One other tip is eucalyptus oil in the shower. I sprinkle a few drops in around the bath mat and the warm water makes it rise. It helps that in the shower you can have a good massage/blow etc and try to release some of the mucus without it being too messy.
Works well for my 8 year old ds at the moment.

BlueBellsArePretty · 04/01/2023 21:22

Neti pot works wonders. Also can work a bit like Vicks first defence if you use it just as a cold starts x

AftersomeAdvice234 · 04/01/2023 21:36

Take an antihistamine every night before bed and a humidifier at night. Really helps

EasterIsland · 04/01/2023 21:43

Use a non-aerosol saline spray up your nostrils - do it in the shower. I used to use Sudafed but now just use a saline spray every second day or so and it’s magic!
