Classic films which lived up to the hype?

I feel like watching some classic movies over the festive period. Which movies lived up to their reputation for you? I know it's subjective to an extent but I'd appreciate any suggestions.

I'm throwing in The Godfather and Casablanca. They're now two of my favourite ever movies.

@Thisthatandtheotherones I absolutely love Waterloo Bridge! It’s never on tv, I’m constantly searching the tv and streaming services for it. Vivienne Leigh is heartbreaking in it.

What's Up Doc is a remake of Bringing up Baby. Both brilliant and hilarious.

Watched The Bisops Wife yesterday , (I always watch it the Saturday afternoon before Christmas) and I agree it is better than Its A Wonderful Life and a very underrated film. Cary Grant was fantastic in it.

Time of the Gypsies More recent but wonderful film. Just remembered it
