This cold weather is due to end soon and be much better by next week. I have bought loads of fleeces from uniqlo last 2 years. They are excellent, also the Sherpa lined joggers, fantastic. No heating.

I’ve just gone back to bed so am snuggled up under the duvet wearing my Oodie nightie. I struggle to sleep so only had 5 hours last night ( 2 hours, then awake for 2 hours then another 3 hours sleep) and got up at 7 am to go swimming. Took me over an hour to get there due to rush hour traffic so am now exhausted and hoping to have a short nap before doing some baking.

It was really cold when I first got up as my heating was only just kicking in and the house was 12° in the lounge. Now the heating has been on at 19° since and that is where it will stay until 10 pm. I’ve done some sums and think that I can afford the increased energy bills if I heat the house at the same temp as last year but do not keep it on later than 10 pm on cold nights - taking into account the money from the government and the huge credit I built up last year.

But I’m not checking the bills as I don’t really want to know if I’ve got my sums wrong, I’ll find a way of cutting back next year!

Tracky bums, woollen socks bought in Norway, fingerless gloves, and a blanket on my lap. Smart work top. I want to put my woolly hat on but I have a Teams call with 4 Senior bods from a new client at lunchtime so I actually had to brush my hair this morning. My ears and nose are freezing 🙁

OldTinHat · 14/12/2022 12:25

Jeans, socks, Muk Luks over socks, a cami, a t-shirt, a jumper, an oodie knock off and a hat.

I look like a weeble and definitely won't be able to fall over without rolling back onto my feet...

poppym12 · 14/12/2022 12:28

Knickers and Birkenstocks. I'm ironing and it makes me sweat like I'm at the gates of hell.

stickygotstuck · 14/12/2022 12:31

I'd just like to point out that jeans are not suitable cold-weather wear.

Really useless in the cold. And the heat. They are only any good in Spring.

Chickenvoicesinmyhead · 14/12/2022 12:34

Walking socks, boot slippers, jeans, vest t-shirt (literally a bog standard cotton vest) and a Kudd.ly . Absolutely game changer. Goes over my knees too at my desk. Might look hideous but I love it and it has transformed my working day.

amylou8 · 14/12/2022 12:35

Jeans, jumper, fleece, hat, DMs and a blanket. 9.5 degrees, gonna have to give in and put the heating on soon.

LiesDoNotBecomeUs · 14/12/2022 12:36

cotton socks - long leather boots - cotton leggings -merino wool legwarmers
Hot water bottle

Ffs. Just froze my tits off all day in home office only to find the plug in heater in DDs room was left on all day Hmm

lieselotte · 14/12/2022 21:24

I've had the heating on for the past five hours (actually goes off at 9pm so has gone off again now). My feet are still like blocks of nice.

I am wearing a long sleeved top, a thin hoodie, a gilet and a thick hoodie and so the rest of me is toastie.

Our bedroom is lovely because it has two radiators but not practical to work in there.

It has been really cold today. I went for a walk at lunchtime and it was pretty unpleasant, mainly because I should have tights on underneath my jeans.
