Good Morning All! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just drinking my first cuppa of the day before heading up to get dressed. The first load of washing's waiting to be hung, and second is in the machine.

Today's Panto day with my Rainbows and Guides, and my friend's Brownie unit! I'm so excited, but a bit gutted we've had a few drop outs for various reasons. I had to book a separate block of tickets so now just a handful will be "over there" with an adult 😢

First though, I'm heading into town to finish the last of my Christmas shopping, barring something for my Dad. I'm hoping I'll find something next week at Sheffield Christmas market.

Stew for tea, since it just does its thing in the slow cooker, probably accompanied by a glass of wine 🍷

Cuppa in bed as I woke up too late for parkrun. Just going to read my book for a bit.
Later out for lunch with some work friends.
Then meeting dh to get the Christmas tree. Will decorate that while drinking sherry while listening to Christmas tunes.
This evening I guess will be football watching.

I’ve got a heavy cold that’s dragged me down this week, it’s the first time I’ve been unwell in around 3 years (I’ve never had covid). So I’m having an easy morning. We go on holiday tomorrow so will be packing then we’ll be heading to the airport later to stay overnight close by. I am hoping to be feeling up to the nice meal we’ve booked for this evening!

Baby slept well for the first time in weeks and I snuck back to bed for an extra hour!

Just getting motivated now, going to return some very long overdue library books and mooch around the shops with toddler & baby.

My husband had his work xmas do last night, so he is somewhat delicate, he is going to love the baby sensory xmas session today 🤣

My son has a friend over later, I’m taking them to one of those ninja warrior places, so hopefully I can sit on a plastic chair and wave every now again while nursing an awful cup of coffee. This afternoon we’re off to see the children’s older birth siblings, so we do need to get a bit organised for that as its a bit of a drive.

No plans this evening, I don’t think we have any anyway, beyond the usual boring stuff.

I was woken up by a drunk and merry husband falling into bed at 2am and struggled to get back to sleep. Just as I was drifting off, my daughter’s jewellery box started playing its creepy tune! So I didn’t get to sleep until 5am and I’m very late up but need to get a move on.

Boulangerie for breakfast and pick up the Christmas wreath from the florist.
Couple of hours work whilst kids decorate the house (first day of school hols here so officially time to get Christmassy!)
Tidy the inevitable mess they leave!
Write and send Christmas cards
Make a batch of allergy-friendly Yorkshires and stuffing for the freezer.
Football, pizza and beer later on!

going to have a real lazy day as the house work was done last night.

I’ve got my works Christmas party in central London tonight so I’ll start getting ready for that around 5!

I've had the flu bug that's been doing the rounds for the last 2 weeks and todays the first day I've felt better so the plan is a long hot bath soon then off to pick up DD's friend and we're going to a trampoline park. We'll be having an easy tea and then watching the England game with a couple of drinks

Frosty walk with the dogs soon. Then coffee and brunch, bit of housework. This afternoon I’m going to a local panto with dd’s and dgc. After that, round to dd2 for a chippy tea and the football. Maybe a glass or two of wine. I’ll probably prep tomorrow’s veg this morning.

I have covid so I'm taking things easy. Thankfully the worst few days seem to be behind me. It's nice actually knowing that nothing is expected of me. Can't visit anyone, no need to g0 out in the freezing cold. Bingo!

Cup of tea sounds good. As does the steering actually. Think I'll chuck a stew in the oven alongside my M&S Christmas cake kit today. (Sounds like a treat for the senses - sadly I've lost my sense of smell and taste so hoping they come back soon)

Woken up to a blanket of snow and still coming down hard. We're putting the tree and decs up today, feels very Christmassy with the snow! Looks like sledging later. Glad I got all my shopping for the weekend yesterday and don't have to drive!

I've done the garden! Two big bags of dead plants material collected, leeks parsnips and carrot ready to be cleaned and cooked. Thank you for starting this thread, if you hadn't written it in my response, I probably would never have done it!

We're having a weekend at the coast so up having croissants before a walk down to the sea and along the beach.

Then coffee and cake, more walking in the cold fresh air (love it!) before finding a (football free) pub to sit in this evening.

Then home tomorrow to order more Christmas presents and wrap up the ones I've already bought that are taking over my bedroom! 🎁

Wow - where are you (roughly!)?

I will be putting the Christmas tree up today. Bought it yesterday and it's outside in a bucket of water which froze overnight.

The tree is white with frost so looks pretty already.

My day started at 6am as I took one of my dc to Heathrow to catch a flight to Tokyo. Cold doesn't even cover it!

Got to get the decorations down from the loft, it's going to be freezing up there.

Online grocery shopping was delivered at 8am, everything out away and DH has taken some shopping over for my parents. DD1 still in bed DD2 full of cold and up watching annoying you tube videos with shouty people on. I’ve had two coffees and a mince pie ! A healthy start. When DH is home we will get tree down and up and then children can decorate. Need to have a shift around of furniture to accommodate the tree which is a pain. Out for dinner with friends early evening.

Snoozing in bed with a cold/flu virus. Online shop coming this afternoon.

I'm still lazing in bed listening to DD and DH messing around downstairs. Well, what I can hear over the drone of 6 dehumidifiers . DD has a party from 2-6 so will use that time to go to the shops, other than that I have a lovely day of doing not a lot planned! DH will want to watch the football tonight so I will curl up in bed with a cheeseboard and either read or find some cheesy Christmas film to watch

Getting in to Goblin Mode.

I had tea and got a wash on, and the bread maker going with a sourdough loaf. The dogs' outside water was frozen this morning but no snow as yet (we're in the Shires)
I have a box of Xmas cards somewhere in the Big Cupboard and will need to arrange an expedition to locate. If successful, I will write them all today. Even if they don't get there till February, which is what I saw on the news website I browsed earlier.
I've got to have a shift round to accommodate the tree too, but don't know if I can face it today.
I went through the study bookcase this week and now have about three more bin bags of old paperwork and out of date books, pamphlets, etc from work. If it stays fine, I will go down to the land and have a bonfire with most of it, saving some for lining raised beds.
I'm having the left over chicken korma for brunch and making beef cobbler for dinner, with whatever veg are in the £1 box that DH brought back from the supermarket. There were loads of mushrooms and he made soup. He has a few specials that he can do really well and this is one of them.
Going to see a band at the village pub tonight.

Hi everyone, just had to look for this thread as I love reading through it.

We woke up to snow this morning so dd8 has been playing out with her friends since 8am!

Dh finally has a day off today and we’ve just been lazing around all morning. I need to clean the house but I just really can’t be bothered.

The two older girls are just about to head into town Christmas shopping so we’ll have a quiet house for a few hours. I plan on watching the football and containing to just sit. The cleaning can wait until tomorrow.

This evening dh is going to his work’s Christmas party, dd18 is working from 6pm - 2.30pm so I’m going to make spaghetti bolognese for tea, watch the football with dd15 and once dd8 is in bed and the football has finished we’ll put a Christmas film on. Nice, relaxed evening today, i just have no energy for anything today at all.

@Giggorata Do you do your bread maker sourdough from scratch or using a mix? My efforts to make it from scratch in the machine have been - um - interesting…
