Older women. Can you still remember what the milk let down feels like?

I just had a twinge that reminded me of it. Only remember labour if I get an upset stomach with cramps.

can you remember either feeling?

Yes, both.

PocketSand · 07/12/2022 17:38

Obviously. Why?

SequinShagger · 07/12/2022 17:41

I find pain a hard memory to remember. You know something hurts but not exactly how

Yes definitely despite it being 16 years since I breast fed!

Thatweredeadtightoncheryl · 07/12/2022 17:43

Yes, 8 years since I fed a baby, I miss it, I get the feeling now and again

ButtonSister · 07/12/2022 17:44

Yes, especially if I hear a very small baby crying (kids in 20's now)

DolphinWars · 07/12/2022 17:44

Yes I do.
Sometimes if something makes me emotional I brace myself for that boob feeling.

Strokethefurrywall · 07/12/2022 17:45

Yes I remember the feeling of let down.

Oddly enough I only was reminded of contractions when I had my first period after mirena insertion and the cramp took my breath away.

WhineyVaginey · 07/12/2022 17:46

When I was nursing my child, the murder of Peter Connolly was in the news, the whole heartbreaking story.
Whenever the picture of him, looking up in his blue jumper appeared, my let down was so sudden & forceful as to be painful.
It's a feeling I'll never forget always associated with sadness for me, even though nursing my child was straightforward & enjoyable.

Hooverphobe · 07/12/2022 17:49

Urgh makes me dry heave just thinking about it. Vile feeling. 🤮

JackieQueen · 07/12/2022 17:52

Yes I remember it, was over 30 years ago but it's never left me.

TheVanguardSix · 07/12/2022 17:53

I could remember the feeling before I finished reading your question, OP. ☺️
I sometimes get a bit teary if I hear a baby cry (as an anxious response to their unknown need) or I get that let down feeling. I’m 50 yet my body still remembers.

custardbear · 07/12/2022 17:54

Labour no

Milk YES I had DMER so it makes me shiver even now and my youngest is 10

Montague22 · 07/12/2022 17:55

Yes when I hear babies cry

NoSquirrels · 07/12/2022 17:55

Absolutely, yes. My body remembers.

Montague22 · 07/12/2022 17:56

It’s only 4 years for me though!

Himawarigirl · 07/12/2022 17:56

Labour no, but just reading your question I felt a shadow of let down 🙂

Cosmosgrowinmygarden · 07/12/2022 17:57

Yes. And my youngest was 40 in the summer!

SanFranBear · 07/12/2022 17:58

Absolutely... like custardbear, not so much labour which I think our memories are designed to make that fade or noone would ever have multiple children...

But letdown is such a distinctive feeling and memory - it's been 8 or so years since I fed my youngest but will never forget it!

DelphiniumBlue · 07/12/2022 17:58

Yes, both. Youngest DC now 22!

elevenplusdilemma · 07/12/2022 17:58

Absolutely. My youngest is 11.

Lessoftheold · 07/12/2022 18:00

Yes, my body remembers both and my youngest is also 40 @Cosmosgrowinmygarden

Xiaoxiong · 07/12/2022 18:00

Yes! Like the pit of my stomach dropping. Or when you go down a rollercoaster. I remember it so clearly, but can't remember labour pains.

mawbroon · 07/12/2022 18:01

Yes! My peri menopausal heavy boobs sometimes feel just like let down.

1wilma1 · 07/12/2022 18:21

My youngest is 7 and I still feel that let down tingle every time I sneeze, does anyone else get that or am I weird?
