Christmas presents for both son’s gf’s

I am hoping you can give me some nice ideas for Christmas presents for the girlfriends.
Both sons have bought a house this year with their respective girlfriends
one is 22 and the other is 25.
Over-the years I have bought them things like silk dressing gowns, favourite perfumes, Mac or Bobbi Brown make up sets.

i usually spend about £100 on them.
Can you think of anything that would be a nice treat.
Also one of them has a birthday on Boxing Day so I need a birthday present as well!

Go with your previous present ideas. Silk dressing gown, favourite perfume would be ideal!

definitely not something for the home. It's a Christmas gift! For the person. Unless she specifically asks for a coffee maker etc then do not buy one.

I know OP has come back and said he isn't going to buy them anything for the home, but 3 young couples I am close to bought their first homes this year, and ALL of them are hoping for things for their homes.

At a time when money is tight and all savings have gone into their homes, they would feel something like a silk dressing down to be a waste of money when a coffee maker or an air fryer or a desk or a big mirror whatever it is they (feel they) need, or feel would make their home even better would be appreciated by them all.

If they are into makeup/ hair maybe a voucher to have their hair and make up done before a special occasion.

Or a make up lesson. There’s someone near me who runs “how to do the perfect Smokey eye” classes.

I’m getting mine a voucher for reflexology.

I agree with this. For the past few years my parents have bought us things for the house. We don’t want or need anything individually and get far more joy out of the house gifts.
Last year they bought us an Ooni and this year we’re getting a beautiful wooden garden chair swing.

Thanks for further replies.
Money isnt tight for either sets son's and gf but I might put it out there to see if they want anything for the house or a bigger joint present or should we stick to individual pressies!
Once Ive got them sorted I will be hunting down a present for ' the mother'. Mum who seems to not like anything, want anything or keep anything! But that's another thread!🤣🤣🤣

I have a perfect idea for you. This artist does bespoke drawings of whatever you like - most people seem to pick their kids (I did!) but she has done several houses - you could get a drawing of each of the new homes. I paid £95 several years ago for a beautiful sketch of each of my kids (two separate drawings, £95 each, but this was a few years ago). Possibly a little more than £100 now for a house, worth enquiring, I reckon. She also did my wedding stationary.

I bought my sister for her 30th birthday the Benefits Beauty wish list Boots star buy for £29 yesterday. It’s got 5 full sized benefit products for £29 which is an absolute bargain.

cutiemcsweetie · 27/11/2022 07:16

You sound like the nicest mum and mother in law ever 😭♥️

cutiemcsweetie · 27/11/2022 07:18

Or dad / father in law going by your name!?

user159 · 27/11/2022 07:35

How about a nice cosmetic bag or card wallet from Aspinal of London? Great quality, lovely packaging and in budget?

Twateralflow · 27/11/2022 08:03

Thank you @FlamingJingleBells I just bought one of those sets for my niece. Such a bargain

Beefcurtains79 · 27/11/2022 08:07

diptique candle sets are always good.
I hate an experience voucher, I’d rather have nothing than the stress of making use of it.

winterywonder · 27/11/2022 08:07

I'd be very happy with one of these. They are very popular!

Some very nice ideas here.
Both have got everything they want for the house. Between me and Dh and the girlfriends family we bought all the white goods, carpet and flooring etc for each house!
Some of the suggestions are fab but they are things they have bought us. I have more wine glasses and gin glasses than I need for ever!! I offered gig tickets for ds birthday but he said no thanks!!
I've already ordered each household a personalized Christmas decoration from etsy which they can have when they come.

I married into the wrong family 😂 you sound very generous OP.

Can you ask them what they’d like? I’ve always appreciated that my MIL asks rather than guesses. Especially at that kind of price point

Beefcurtains79 · 27/11/2022 08:08

White company pyjamas and slippers also 💕

notacooldad · 27/11/2022 10:36

Thank you for reviving this thread!
I have asked both gf for ideas but they are so polite and say they are happy with anything.
Theres a few things I fancy for myself, especially the Benefit set!
I'm bothered about buying pjsas I've done that as part of a gift for the last few years. Also when we've been round in the evening they are comfy'ied up in Oodies!
Anyway more food for thought
Thank You!!!

Would you consider a voucher for one of their favourite shops? I love getting those.
If not you can’t go wrong with their favourite perfume.
If they like Estée Lauder then their Xmas set with lots of goodies is really nice.

kateandme · 27/11/2022 10:55
