Christmas presents for both son’s gf’s

I am hoping you can give me some nice ideas for Christmas presents for the girlfriends.
Both sons have bought a house this year with their respective girlfriends
one is 22 and the other is 25.
Over-the years I have bought them things like silk dressing gowns, favourite perfumes, Mac or Bobbi Brown make up sets.

i usually spend about £100 on them.
Can you think of anything that would be a nice treat.
Also one of them has a birthday on Boxing Day so I need a birthday present as well!

You sound very generous! What about ah experience day for them to go out with as a couple each? There are loads in red letter days (and lots of other sites). I'm 27 and some of mine and DHs favourite gifts have been trips to the theatre/ days out/ night away etc as it's something we rarely treat ourselves to.

Or - how about booking a girls spa trip?

RoseBucket · 23/11/2022 21:03

Theatre, festival or gig tickets? Ticketmaster gift card maybe.

chickidychick · 23/11/2022 21:04

That's loads to spend!

Anyway. I'd go something nice for the house and make it joint. So nice kitchen stuff?

That or Charlotte Tilbury gift sets look nice

Wow op ,I know this is MN but can you easily afford that much?

I've been with DH for so long nearly 20 year's and I got a Bamboo bowel once and these are rich people.

Do they drink coffee? A nice espresso machine for their new houses?

Verite1 · 23/11/2022 21:24

Thinking of presents that have been a hit from my in laws: leather gloves, nice scarf, pedicure/manicure voucher, beautiful wine glasses, voucher for super posh lunch at Michelin starred place.

Things that haven’t been a hit: Toiletries (as I’m allergic to most) and clothes (usually in one or two sizes bigger than i am)!

Sounds painful.

Experience gifts (theatre etc) are great.
Have they got what they need for the house? Maybe a really nice fancy set of knives/cutlery. Investment cutlery, not just basics.

As an extra little something as they've just moved house, you could find them a special xmas decoration to commemorate that.

One idea I picked up here years ago was a Coach Wristlet, I bought one for my DN and she was thrilled.

TheFairyCaravan · 23/11/2022 21:31

I’ve got my DDIL some personalised gin from Mason’s of Yorkshire
These gin glasses
Some pyjamas
A reed diffuser from Chapter Organics
A Chinese cookery book
A pasta cookery book

And a cordless Dyson between her and DS2 (they did ask for that)

StaceySolomonSwash · 23/11/2022 21:32

Go with your previous present ideas. Silk dressing gown, favourite perfume would be ideal!

definitely not something for the home. It's a Christmas gift! For the person. Unless she specifically asks for a coffee maker etc then do not buy one.

Isyesterdaytomorrowtoday · 23/11/2022 21:32

creasing at Bamboo Bowel!

you sound lovely OP

I really like vouchers for a nice restaurant or hotel, maybe a massage?

other than that it depends what they are into… big white co candle, astrid & miyu star sign necklace, Dempsey & Dempsey PJs, tartan blanket co scarf, bloom & wild subscription

Puddywoodycat · 23/11/2022 21:33

😱🤣🤣

To be honest it may as well have been
they are painful. 🤣

notacooldad · 23/11/2022 22:22

Some very nice ideas here.
Both have got everything they want for the house. Between me and Dh and the girlfriends family we bought all the white goods, carpet and flooring etc for each house!
Some of the suggestions are fab but they are things they have bought us. I have more wine glasses and gin glasses than I need for ever!! I offered gig tickets for ds birthday but he said no thanks!!
I've already ordered each household a personalized Christmas decoration from etsy which they can have when they come.

Perhaps she got arsey.

caringcarer · 24/11/2022 00:00

Don't get something for the house. Spa day with a couple of treatments and a cream tea afterwards.

Coconutcream123 · 24/11/2022 00:02

Wow would you be my MIL these gifts are amazing.
I'd stick to those kind of items, or what about spa treatment vouchers?

handbagsandholidays · 24/11/2022 00:03

Tk max have some lovely Givenchy scarves for that budget! Great value and quite on trend for those age brackets x

UWhatNow · 24/11/2022 00:07

I’d stick with your current formula. Any of those gifts sounds wonderful.
