Placebo tablets in blister packs

DS15 has finally took antipsycotics today. 🥳🥳🥳

However how we did it was me and DD also took a paracetamol at the same time. But given he needs to suck not swallow the risperidone im not sure if he wont get smart tomorrow.

It would help if there was some kind of something very small and round that comes in a blister pack we could take at the same time as DS. We might run with a saccharine tablet as it looks right but if it came in a blister pack it would be better. I wondered if mumsnet hive mind could think of a solution

Have you actually tasted a saccharine tablet?
bleugh!
How about aspirin, they don’t taste too bad?

Take a look at Healthspan, who are a supplier of supplements. Many of their products are in blisterpacks, and they are shown in photos on their website. If you put "chewable" in the search box you should come up with a list of suitable options.

Aspirin has some serious actual effects and side effects. Definitely not to be taken lightly.

@BobbyBobbyBobby the side effect of NOT taking antipsychotics and antidepressants can also be suicide. I suggest leaving OP to her very sensible and well thought out approach as she seems to be managing the situation well.

OP, just a thought after your more recent update around how the conversation went - could you put something into a compliance aid for yourself, even if your DS wouldn't take his own medicine from one?

If you used one of the plastic pill boxes with days of the week on them, fill it with Smints or something -you're still taking medicine, but without the faff of trying to source something harmless that also comes in a blister pack?

All for naught anyway as it seems yesterday was a blip. Today's tablet ended up firmly in the bin. 😣

Given a sweetener is meant to sweeten, it was surprisingly bitter!

Thank you everyone who made suggestions and sent positive thoughts
