Good morning Mumsnet! What's everyone up to today?

I'm just enjoying my first cuppa of the day, in silence. It's my favourite part of the weekend. The only noise is the fridge humming away but that doesn't bother me.

So long as it doesn't rain, we're going to walk into town this morning to collect our Panto tickets. I have a small list of other things to pick up too, and I want to nip to the butcher for some nicer than usual sausages, to try a new recipe. I imagine we'll end up at our usual fruit and veg stall too.

When we get in, dd1 will probably go back to revising for the last of her mock exams...I can't remember what she has this coming week though 🤦‍♀️ . Dd2 will probably stay down here with me and do some sort of crafting. I'll finish pinning a hem on some curtains, and a couple of other repairs then maybe get the sewing machine out.

Tonight; I'll catch up with Nigel Slater's Christmas Chronicles, and maybe carry on with my crochet.

What about all of you 🙂

Morning @lucysmam and all

I'm recovering from surgery this week so a quiet Saturday here, beautiful day so DH has taken the DC out and Ive got a friend visiting in a bit she's bringing her book and she will keep an eye on me while I have a sleep I think!

A different friend is dropping a meal off later on aswell so we don't have to cook.

I'm being truly spoilt!

I'm lying on DS2's bed MNing watching DH put up some new shelves in his room. I'm supervising 😂

I have a white wine hangover. We went to the pub with our next door neighbours and we always drink too much when we are with them, I'm a bit annoyed with myself.

I threw myself 6ish km round our local beauty spot with the dogs this morning trying to run it off, so can't see myself doing much else today, although must sort laundry.

Also need SOMEONE to take a half decent photo of me for my new passport that doesn't make me look like a corpse. No success from the first 2 attempts this far.

DH making pork, chicken and prawn noodles for tea. He's a good boy (sometimes).

Ill here too, cough, cold, high temperature, just me and the cat at home. I'm on the sofa under a blanket watching Discovery of Witches and writing something for work.
Not up to leaving the house so I'll be relying on the freezer 😬for food.

I've been hanging curtains over doorways to try and keep warm. I'm really under the weather, have a flare up of a chronic condition, am feeling absolutely miserable and have nothing 'nice' to eat to cheer myself up.

I'm trying to keep away from the food takeaway app...

I am listening to a reading of a Philip K Dick novel that I found on YouTube, whilst I potter round upstairs, tidying. I have been turning out a big cupboard and have a load of stuff in boxes for the charity shop and some Xmas decorations that are going to the food bank.
I will be with my coven later tonight, so I need to visit the supermarket for food and wine first.
DH is chainsawing wood in the yard and has decided to make cottage pie later.
Somewhere in the middle of everything will be eggs on toast.

Love these threads!

Today I was up early and went to the florist after breakfast to get some flowers for my daughters best friend’s 21st birthday. Then visited my elderly neighbour who came home yesterday after a month in hospital. Dropped DD off to her friends birthday and then went to visit a chicken I recently rehomed. Back home and had lunch and a nap with the puppy. Cleaned and rearranged DD room while watching the rugby ~ what a game and great to come away with a win!
Out to the garden, gave everything a good dose of Seasol. Picked some flowers for inside. Walked the dog. Made dinner. Now watching more rugby ~ Australia vs Italy and about to go and pick DD up.

Just back from footy training which started at 9am with all the DCs, and have made us all fried egg sandwiches for lunch. Lit the fire to warm up the house. This afternoon is lounging around, walking the dog and I might have a nap 😴 This evening DS is making pizzas for everyone and we’ll probably watch a film. A lovely chilled out Saturday 😁

While DH walked DDog I have:

  • bottled 4 litres of sloe gin for DD and put the sloes in the compost bin (sozzled slow worms?)
  • completely tidied out the utility room, now looks lovely
  • vacuumed through downstairs
  • done a load of washing and hung it outside
  • cooked a ready meal Chinese for lunch
  • refilled the dishwasher
  • Tidied the kitchen
  • made the bed and cleaned the bathroom.

That’s it for now, I need to finish knitting a pair of socks next.

@fdfd tell me about it! Dd2 is 13 in December, and dd1 turns 16 in January 🤯

I hope everyone who's feeling unwell is on the mend soon 💐

We're just cooking tea now. I've decided on roast chicken breasts with pasta, and a chunky tomato & veg based sauce. Possibly a part baked roll on the side too.

I don't think the sewing machine is coming out tonight; I found another repair to do so will probably do them all at once tomorrow morning-ish.
