I'll start. Mars delight. Heaven in a wrapper.

OP posts:
spiderlight · 12/11/2022 01:09

Pyramint.

HotelBloedel · 12/11/2022 01:12

In the early 80s my parents used to get chocolate bars from the supermarket that were divided into two pieces but still joined by chocolate, possibly slightly ridged and came in different flavours. I think they were quite narrow. I wish I could remember what they were.

The original taste of the strawberry lolly in a Dib Dab.

Secret (obvs).

Mars Delight.

Original taste of strawberry Hunba Bubba. Even though it would last four and a half seconds.

Echo. (Would eat the chocolate off the top first).

Cadbury’s Snaps.

Twix Top.

Milky Way Crispy Rolls.

Mint Toffos.

Dairy Milk Tasters.

Galaxy Truffles in Celebrations.

Riesen Chocolate Chew.

Mingles. I really loved these.

Kitkat Senses.

Mars Planets (anyone remember those?)

Time Out.

Drifter. (So chewy).

That’s all I can think of now that I liked. I honestly cannot imagine why they stopped a lot of them. They were so fucking good.

You can still get Riesen Chocolate chews in home bargains 😍

CallieQ · 12/11/2022 01:31

Golden crisp

mackthepony · 12/11/2022 02:06

Pink panther strawberry chocolate bar.

Oohhhhh...my mouth remembered these before my brain did. I drooled Blush

Whatever the bounty with cherries was called. Cabana?
Absolutely loved pacers. Used to shove several in at once 😂

DrMarciaFieldstone · 12/11/2022 04:06

I took a bag of Cadbury Dairy Milk Tasters into every single uni exam I ever sat.

Daisychainsandglitter · 12/11/2022 05:47

Maverick and Fuse bars

Wheelyweddingwipedout · 12/11/2022 06:09

ginandoreos · 11/11/2022 22:56

Thank you to all the Maverick appreciators - I have been trying to get friends to remember them for years and no one does! There was so much packed into those bars!

Great shout on the citrus polos I can practically taste them now!

Cherry drops from the swimming pool vending machine if I was lucky... I think they might still be around? Sorry if already mentioned!

@ginandoreos are these the cherry drops?

I keep thinking of new ones.

The white chocolate mice and skulls with the gooey strawberry centres. I can't remember the last time I saw them.

B&M's had the skulls in the other week beside the Halloween sweets & I'm sure you can get a round tub of white & pink mice from home bargains.

Sestriere · 12/11/2022 06:27

Mackintosh’s mint cracknell.

i can still remember the texture in my mouth of sharp, layered, slices of hard mint.

Fuuuuuckit · 12/11/2022 06:58

Thornton (of old, I'm talking 25+ years ago) used to sell jelly mice and fish amongst their chocolatey treats. Man, there's nothing I wouldn't do for a jelly fish from Thorntons.

Pacers... Mmmm....

ginandoreos · 12/11/2022 07:22

@Wheelyweddingwipedout Yes, bingo! Ooh pure yummy sugar 😄

Mrsjayy · 12/11/2022 09:41

LearnerCook · 12/11/2022 00:56

Can we include crisps? Tudor crisps were way better than Walkers. I'd bring back their roast pork & apple sauce flavour if i could. Yum!

Spangles and Toffos are much missed.

Tudor crisps were amazing I mentioned their Gammon a few pages back.

loudbatperson · 12/11/2022 16:35

@PeloFondo
Thank you, but I can only see the solid white and pink mice on that site :(

A shop near me used to sell white ones what were filled with a runny strawberry fondant. And skulls too.

mpeople · 12/11/2022 16:37

Caramac bars

I know which you mean.. I've seen the jelly skulls with the strawberry centre but not the chocolate ones... only strawberry and white chocolate flavour but no liquid centre. It used to look like blood! Skull crushers I think they were called?

IHeartGeneHunt · 12/11/2022 16:41

Pyramint
Toffos
Spangles
About 22 years ago Thornton's did white chocolate double cream peppermint creams, and I think of those far too often.
Highland toffee
And you used to be able to buy massive blocks of Dairy Milk in flat boxes, they were great.

There's a posh version of the skulls here
thechocolategift.co.uk/products/white-chocolate-and-raspberry-skulls

I know the ones you mean. I feel like pick n mix type sweets have got simpler over time because it's easier for factories to make them.

loudbatperson · 12/11/2022 16:46

Ooo I will give them a go, thanks @howaboutchocolate

Butchyrestingface · 12/11/2022 16:53

I'm not reading through 11 pages.

I take it Irn Bru chewy bars has come up again and again?

<actually started salivating as I typed that>

HearMeSnore · 12/11/2022 16:59

Terry's All Gold
Cadbury Nut Assortment
Cabana Bars
Terry's Neapolitans

And one from the early '90s called Delight (or possibly Delite) that nobody but me can remember. It was in a pink and light blue shiny wrapper and was chocolate-covered soft nougat with a kind of crumbly texture.

Wheelyweddingwipedout · 12/11/2022 17:37

@loudbatperson - are these the skulls?

MCHammersmutha · 12/11/2022 17:38

The original creme eggs the new variation are absolutely rank.

On a side note .... I bought a multi pack of snickers the other day ...they have shrunk AND deflated...the new normal.
