What would you do with 700 pounds?

I think I'm getting a tax rebate of 700 pounds, assuming i have Christmas covered for kids and husband and no debts what would you spend it on? I have savings and it will be adsorbed into normal day to day to costs unless I ring fence it for something.

Either put it towards a trip to Disneyland Paris, or it'd pay for a full week at Center Parcs. Either would be lovely for us.

More savings, you clearly dont want or need anything you can think of so add it to the saving so when you do want or need something you still have it.

Put it in Premium Bonds until something came along that I really, really wanted.

I don't understand the concept of going out of my way to look for something to spend it on, as if it were a voucher you had for a company that were potentially going bust, or an amount you had when a shop will only exchange something.

Just keep it, then when you do want something, you'll have the money.

In your position I’d have a night away somewhere ridiculously posh, all by myself. Same situation here with disabled dc and DH and I have tag teamed breaks away in the past. It saves my sanity. I’ve been away for a night with friends and also just by myself. I’m very much someone who needs, and rarely gets, downtime by myself though. I know a solo trip won’t be everyone’s cup of tea

Get a personal shopper and buy some clothes that make me feel amazing

MissPiggysPinkDress · 10/11/2022 20:23

I’d buy lots of lovely dresses and a new pair of boots, probably DMs

BeastOfBODMAS · 10/11/2022 20:41

Wait it’s a tax rebate? I’d treat myself to a year’s supply of top notch bog roll (after a lifetime of the cheapest stuff) and every time I wiped my arse I’d think of Jeremy Hunt

Paying some bills off and with about £50 of it, a trip to Nando's and an art gallery with my OH 😁

Thatskindafun · 10/11/2022 21:22

A new mattress! Ours is fine, but I just want one that’s more comfy and memory foamy, so i can’t justify the expense

if not that, probably a nice meal to a fancier place than I can normally afford
and a spa break or city break

or I’d get a voucher for some massages or getting my nails done or something I normally feel guilty to do regularly, but once the vouchers there I may as well use it

whiteroseredrose · 10/11/2022 21:33

That would cover DH and my trip to Krakow.
