Has anyone else struggled with the new Duolingo?

I’ve been happily using it for months and then it changed overnight. From what I’ve found out through googling it, it seems like they’ve been rolling out this new version since August.

I learn through repetition and I feel really lost with the new set up. It seems to assume I know stuff that it’s not covered at all.

The main thing I’ve got from a class is being able to have conversations, as opposed to just listening to & repeating random phrases.

Right - I've just done a month of 'my weak points'; going over the same sentences day after day. For 31 days. All the same lessons. Every day.

I said if it carried on into February, I'd ditch my 1114 day streak..... AND February is more of the same. Same sentences, same boring stories hat I've done (at 100%) hundreds of times before.

I'm done. I've been told that Duolingo can't go any further than B1, which is where I think I'm at - or very close to.

I'm going to look at podcasts and Youtube, and read books in the language instead. I don't think there are any classes in the language in the area, (as it's not taught in the schools any more) but I'll keep a lookout.

The level probably depends on the language. It goes to high B2 in Spanish.

But there's nothing wrong with your plan. You'll probably get a better understanding of the language using other resources, either alongside or instead of Duolingo.

Maybe have a look for online classes, or something like Italki?
