Tomorrow is the day I find out if I'm likely to be able to conceive naturally or if I'm infertile.

I'm mentally in an extremely dark place and struggling to come to terms with having to have surgery in the morning. I'm having a laparoscopy to remove endometriosis and one Fallopian tube. We aren't yet sure on the condition of the other Fallopian tubes but I'm so scared.

Can anybody offer me any advice please :( I've waited a long time for answers and I don't actually think I can cope with them :(

Also the operation is fine. I was given paracetamol and codine if necessary to manage the pain. I took paracetamol for a couple of days, never bothered with the codine. Just had a few days rest and watched crap tv. It was wonderful.

It is worth noting I am a total and utter wimp and was pleasantly shocked at how ok I was!

Good luck for today. Top tip I had before a lap is take a pillow for the drive home - seatbelt was really uncomfortable in the car and the extra padding helped between it and my belly.

You left out a third option - ivf. My sister at 38 had surgery and both tubes were blocked and removed. She had ivf which resulted in 3 eggs of which 1 fertilised and dgr had a 2 day embryo implanted. My wonderful nephew is now 16. You are 30 - lots of options left for you tomorrow is not the defining moment of your fertility journey.

I’ve had two children in my late thirty’s early forty’s within 2 months of trying and after years of worrying was I too old to conceive. Just saying that , all the Internet facts that scared me are irrelevant. I think your going to do just fine . Please let us know . Thinking of you

I hope it goes well. My Dsis had one tube out due to big ovarian cyst, but conceived naturally age 40, he’s now 14. I’ve also had lap surgery under general anesthetic and felt groggy from that for a week but was ok with the incision sites healing. Take the time you need plus a bit more, your still “young” with options. Big unmumsnetty hugs
