I have cold like symptoms with head and achiness
Should I just have gone into work anyway?

I think it depends on your own personal situation if you work with or care for vulnerable people you should be testing if not I wouldn't test but would wear a mask to go out in

Never tested for covid in my life, never had a need to, never had symptoms of it and wouldn't go anywhere that required me to test for it.

DD is a toddler with a pretty much constantly running nose so we don't test her. DS is immune to everything so hasn't been a need to test him. I'd test if I felt quite coldy but haven't been testing for a tiny sniffle.

No point testing and don't really need to.

I was ill about a month ago and was pretty sure it was Covid. Felt pretty rough so mainly stayed at home, and wore a mask if I was going shopping or had to be near people.

They are keeping track of the spread by monitoring the sewage so they don't need people to test the way they used to.

No, we have bills to pay. Unless you feel really unwell. We cannot live like this any longer.

We test. I just have a lot of tests left over so use them if anyone is feeling peaky. I've bought a box too.

You can have your own views but to try and suggest that your sample of friends and families is producing more accurate results than worldwide studies of 1000s of participants is plain stupid

You are asserting that vaccines do nothing, maybe you wouldn't look thick if you presented some evidence for this

But if your group of friends and family all took for example a contraceptive pill, yet some still fell pregnant or had problematic lufe threatening reactions, would you, yourself continue to take that pill if you didn't want to get pregnant 🤔 or would you believe the "worldwide studies"? Genuine question.

This is my last post on this thread, as I would be here all day with some challenging me. I think we need to just accept there will always be different viewpoints on this particular subject. I'm happy for an each to their own approach 😊

The ignorance of people who say things like 'if you're ill, just don't go to work'. Can some people try to see how life works outside their own little bubble?

Just off the top of head..

People who are self employed and others who don't get sick pay.
People who will be fired for repeated absences.
Teachers and nursery workers have been going to work with cold after cold all autumn and winter for decades, there would be no staff to open schools if teachers and other staff didn't go in any time they felt a bit ill.

Covid was the mildest illness I had last year compared to the vomiting bug, flu and other colds I had. I tested out of curiosity because I did get a distinctive cough. LUCKILY I was in a very fortunate position of not needing to work that week, but pre-covid I'd have not even thought twice about going into work- I wasn't that ill at all. So no, just not going to work when you have any slight illness is not the answer.

Absolutely I would, the risks of contraeotive pills are known and are statistically the same for the population. I'm not more likely to have side effects because someone I know had them

That makes no sense at all

Large population studies of anything will give statistically more valid results than anecdata. I can't believe anyone would dispute that

Do you also dispute the almost worldwide eradication of certain diseases by vaccination too or do you only hold that view for covid?

Agreed

The vaccinated are the guinea pigs. There have been no long term studies, the vaccinated are the study. I fully appreciate some were happy to sign up for that. I wasn't. I'm not thick, it's a personal choice. No name calling required. Just different views.

Your view is based on ignorance. You don’t understand how vaccines work.
