I have bought lemon curd to have on toast but I am severely underwhelmed... I used to eat this when I was a child but it's no where near as good. What have I done wrong?

How do you want your curd in toast??

Butter is lovely but have you tried cream cheese under any curd or even jam? Absolutely amazing!

AnneShirleysNewDress · 02/11/2022 18:57

Butter is a must as is Tiptree curd. I could eat it straight out the jar.

I was literally coming on to suggest this! It's like lemon cheesecake on toast, bliss!

Mrs Darlington's Lemon Curd or Lemon and Lime Curd is good.

Spoonful of curd, spoonful of cream cheese, mix - lemony "cheesecake" topping. Good on scones, or on a digestive biscuit topped with raspberries for a quick treat.

I'm hungry now. Haven't had lemon curd for years, but for me the toast had to be cold before I spread it on.

I buy mine in a farm shop. Love it mixed into Greek yoghurt with berries

Make your own. I use Delia Smith's recipe and it's extremely easy and taste amazing.

Do not spare the butter then lather on. Also put a good quality brand (Harvey nicks) on your Christmas wish list and hide from the entire family, lick the knife / spoon and enjoy

It needs to be a really lemony one, not just vaguely lemon flavoured sugar. Lemon curd tart from a French patisserie is the best thing ever.

Came on to say just this. At the very least it has to be from whatever supermarket’s ‘posh’ range.

Lemon curd sandwich on fresh white Warburtons thick sliced loaf yum yum double yum 😋

You need a fresh, white, crusty loaf. Bakery style, not your packaged sliced.

hack a good thick slice off, toast (optional- also amazing untoasted), spread with butter and then lemon curd.
