Advice needed please - problems with nursery.

Hi guys, please desperately need advice on the way forward. I kept my baby in nursery at 5months as I needed to return back to work as a single mother having not earned an income in 7.5months. My baby was sleeping through the night at 8 weeks but all this stopped once she started nursery.
But my main concern was that she just wasn't sleeping during the day while at nursery, she would sleep for 20min 2/3times instead of 1.5hrs (2 times) at home. During the weekends she would sleep for hours during the day and all night. She was at nursery 4 days a week.
One morning I dropped her off and a little girl told me that the baby is always crying, but I asked staff how she was and this wasn't mentioned to me.

I decided at week 3 that she needs to be at home and told nursery I would be withdrawing her immediately as babies grow when they sleep and mine isn't getting enough sleep. I was told I would need to pay the 6 weeks notice period whether I bring her there or not. There was no concern made at all towards her well-being. I know I made a mistake taken her there at such a young age now I don't know what to do. Any suggestions please.

Baby sleep isn’t linear. So they don’t just start sleeping through the night and that’s it forever then.

They go through good patches and bad patches, for the first year at the very least but for most it’s 2-3 years.

So at 5 months, your baby’s sleep was going to change whether she was in nursery or not.

The fact of the matter is that it doesn’t matter what the reason is that you are taking her out - you signed the contract, so you need to pay the notice period.

I would be speaking to the nursery to find out what you can do it is normal for babies not to sleep as long at nursery there is a lot going on and they don't want to miss out. But obviously if she is crying all day every day then this is different and they should be discussing with you. Find out if they suggest anything for settling in or if you do wish to pull her out try a childminder instead.

The notice period however is standard contract clause and yes your legally obliged to pay it and they can follow this up through small claims court given its £150 to make a application to and the fees will be in excess of this. No judge will rule in your favour you signed the contract and I can't afford to or I don't want to won't stand up for anything.

Love and light….

I think I’ll bow out of this one!

You need to change the thread title as there is no problem with the nursery.

The only problem you have is with your stinking bad attitude.

MingoDringo · 01/11/2022 10:06

And another PM.

I've reported you.

Skinnermarink · 01/11/2022 10:07

How weird.

Hi all,
We are deleting this one as it is drawing reports (not because MingoDringo has done anything wrong). We have updated further down the thread.

deliverooyoutoo · 01/11/2022 10:13

What the fuck.

Op that's not really on.

Skinnermarink · 01/11/2022 10:14

Is there even a nursery? Is there even a baby?

BobbyBobbyBobby · 01/11/2022 10:14

I've reported you.

She’s clearly unhinged.

OP wind your neck in, you'll (justifiably) get a ban messaging people like that.

Your baby will settle quicker in nursery the more days they're there. Stick with four, work with the nursery.

These people are so annoying though.

If it helps, one of mine has ADHD, obviously always did and they only ever had 15minute power naps a few times a day from 6wks up until 9mths when they stopped naps completely. Obviously this is not ‘normal’ but they grew to over 6’ just the same as their siblings who napped the ‘typical’ amount.

JenniferBarkley · 01/11/2022 10:17

They're not, they're giving you sensible advice if you would just read it. I know you've had a thoroughly shit time and that makes it difficult for you to leave your baby, but a baby taking a few weeks to settle at nursery is a tale as old as time.

Calling someone a piece of shit is awful.

What a loon!

The only thing I’m focusing on is what a twit she’s made of herself.

deliverooyoutoo · 01/11/2022 10:19

You shouldn't pm abuse. That's not allowed. Nor should it be.

Elderflower14 · 01/11/2022 10:19

Terrible how the OP has been messaging people.. Typical case of someone posting and not liking the responses they get!!

HQ are already dealing with the PMs

I hope she doesn't get a ban but you can't be sending those messages Willy nilly.

JenniferBarkley · 01/11/2022 10:30

There absolutely should be a ban for sending messages like that.
