Christmas until the joy sucker's come in

ramonaquimby · 29/10/2022 19:13

Style and beauty. There’s a thread there where people post their outfits and every person is so complimentary and kind! Makes me feel good (I’m not brave enough to post!) 😊

any threads about books

BluOcty · 29/10/2022 19:13

Christmas obviously Wink Ho ho Ho

I read that thread for ideas. They're all very well put together their outfits.

The 'frugal' thread on Cost of Living. No nastiness or judgement allowed. Post as often or little as required. Combined chat and frugal tips

I love recipes and meal planning.
I like the baby names except when people are mean. If the choices aren't to my taste I just tiptoe away.

I like the recipe ones too, they’ve given me lots of good ideas in the past.

Also enjoy the baby name ones, but not the nastiness from some posters - it’s always the same people too. It’s like they wait for a new thread just so they can write ‘Oh god no, don’t name your child that, poor thing will be bullied no end’

Style & Beauty & Christmas ones are a good read.

I like some of the random threads that come up from time to time like ‘ what’s your favourite happy childhood memory’ or
’cutest thing your child has said or done’
Those kind of ones.

Chateaudiaries · 29/10/2022 19:32

Food and recipes or exercise threads, especially swimming.

DownToTheSeaAgain · 29/10/2022 19:39

Anything related to line drying clothes. I 💕 those threads

FinallyHere · 29/10/2022 19:40

I found my tribe in the low carb bootcamp threads.

and feel very emotional about the loveliness in the 'leave your worries for the night shift to look after ' threads.

I spend a lot of time on MN.

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 29/10/2022 19:42

The Book Challenge Thread

Whatispumpkinspice · 29/10/2022 19:45

You can't beat a 'glitch in the matrix' thread for escapism.

JimTheShit · 29/10/2022 19:53

I’m book marking this thread! Had no idea any of the threads existed. I have only ever been on 4 topics!

will have to try What We’re Reading and the piano thread in AIBU!

Where is the leave your worries for night thread?

CoopersChase · 30/10/2022 00:43

Crisp thread. Just a bit of a giggle and no one telling us off about the dangerous of eating.

Also like the night worry threads.

FinallyHere · 30/10/2022 00:47

Bring us your worries, big or small! The nightshift will hold them so you can sleep

Anyone remember there used to be Friday night drinks threads?

OrangePomander · 30/10/2022 00:56

I like the song chain thread, and also any ‘what’s for dinner’ are handy for inspiration.

Hawkins001 · 30/10/2022 01:00

For me it's being in the middle of aibu, or just going through the active threads list and commenting on various ones

MarshaMelrose · 30/10/2022 01:00

Style & beauty, and cleaning.

I do have a worry at the moment so I'm going to go leave it with the nightshift.

Furries · 30/10/2022 01:18

I’m more of a lurker than a poster, so I mooch about a fair bit.

The Litter Tray can be a good board, lots of lovely photos. Can be sad, with the loss of pets. And can be a tad snippy with different views on pet ownership. But overall I love the board.

The Gardening board is great. I cannot summon up a single idea of what could ever cause a bunfight on there. Often great photos of how gardens/plants are doing.

Home decoration and property/diy. Again, fairly easygoing whilst also meaning I can gather snippets of info I never knew I needed.

I occasionally look at the recipes and the crafting boards. I’m a rubbish cook and don’t have an artistic bone in my body, but they’re pretty chilled to scroll through.

Iusedtoplaytherecorder · 29/10/2022 18:33

I started one today on AIBU - I'm trying to learn to play the piano, and it's had 100% positive comments. It's lifted my spirits no end hearing about everyone's encouragement and happy stories.

I read your thread and loved it! Good luck!

Clevererthanyou · 30/10/2022 01:23

Sporner Corner is my happy place, though I do love a thread full of pet pictures. Another place that isn't happy at all but more full of human kindness is the Woolly Hugs threads, restores your faith in humanity a little but it can be very upsetting due to the need for the Woolly Hugs.

Is there seriously an issue on the Christmas forum? I love it there :(

Slig · 30/10/2022 01:27

I used to love the Friday night drinks thread. Well I didn't drink as was breast feeding the baby.

That "baby" is now 19 and out drinking herself!

And I always got caught out to a link to the picture attached! Can't find a link now. :(

Not sure many remember this bat!

Marthasfrog · 30/10/2022 10:37

I'd like to know what has happened to the Christmas topic? I think I have the topic hidden as they start the discussion too early for me, but often delved in to the poncetastic threads.

I think there were fights on threads where people were photographing piles of 'stash' presents bought one year, but can't remember much else.

How have I never noticed that thread. They're a good bunch, the Night Watch.
