Anyone seen "The Banshees of Inisherin"?

With a few hours to spare, I looked up films in the local cinema. This was the recommended film, with promising reviews on Google from film critics. I sat down hoping for a thought-provoking visual feast. Two hours later I left that cinema in clouds of despair, and depressed by all aspects of it. I just thought it was awful, in so many ways. Some people walked out before it ended. I don't want to get into spoilers, but has anyone seen this? I just don't understand the rave reviews and feel like I missed something.

We watched it tonight and obviously whilst not upbeat it was very entertaining and good. I've had a falling out with a close friend of most of my life so could relate. The acting was superb.

I thought it was a very good film. It told an tale of friendship. It was extraordinary and very clever and smart.

Colm wanted to withdraw into himself and to work on himself and his music.
Pádraig self esteem was wrapped up in his friendship with Colm. I think that's wrong in every way not only in the film. It should be highlighted more.

It shows the struggles between introvert and extrovert.

I can identify with Colm a lot. I feel stressed when I don't get time alone to work on my hobby.

I watched it a few days ago. Not something I would want to watch again, but some interesting concepts. Siobhan was amazing.

Only every time I look back in my head, Colin Farrel's entire part has been replaced by Ardal O'Hanlon. and all thought of the poor wee donkey are soundtrack by my lovely horse. Also, how on earth did they manage to film it all in such dry weather? I know they know tricks on making things look sunny etc, but can't just cgi out the rain.

I thought it was fabulous. I also wondered how they had managed to film in consistently dry sunny weather. The acting was brilliant, the actress that played the sister was terrific, she was a great character as well. I was really pleased when she escaped all the macho bullshit that was going on around her.
