Damn... he's DB's IL's local MP - and has just resigned... Grin

Thank you, god.

QuinoaWest · 25/10/2022 16:31

*Jacob Rees-Mogg, I meant! Not his father, William...

“We cannot have people simply loafing about, doing nothing and expecting the state to finance their lifestyles” - William Rees-Mogg

Oh...um...

I've forgotten which of the crises this picture came from. Early Partygate?

QuinoaWest · 25/10/2022 16:32

@CloudPop
It was one of the Brexit debates, I think.

Absolute wanker.
A total, total cunt.
Good riddance fucker.

Perfectly put. Well done!

@GonnaGetGoingReturns
But at least he's not Business Secretary talking about topics he knows zilch about

He DOES know about business though. He has this very contrived persona which gives the impression that he is an aristocratic unworldly Victorian gentleman who lies around reading the classics all day. He deliberately cultivates this persona to cover up who he is.In fact his background is not aristocratic at all and his MO is Machiavellian strategising to make himself as rich as possible. He knows exactly how business works and he uses that knowledge to make himself (and his friends) rich. He is very far from the aristocratic gentleman who is out of step with the real world.

Read the biography of him by Michael Ashcroft. It reveals him to be a cut throat businessman (and the book is written by a Tory).

Yes, I'm sure he does know about business in real life... however, he cannot relate to the common people as it were, so he was never going to be any use as Business Secretary.

I've often wondered who the fuck votes for him, but a whole 50% of those who voted in North Somerset do. If anyone lives there, do you ever look around you and think, God, half the people here voted for this twat?

I'll ask DB's IL's next time I see them.... however a lot of North Somerset locals appear to be Tory central.

Yes of course, once forgets - parliament has been largely paralysed since well before partygate

Good Lord, I have no words...

Octomore · 25/10/2022 16:45

Good. He won't be missed.

Agreed

PrincessofWellies · 25/10/2022 16:46

Perhaps there is a god after all 🤔

Newcatbrowntail · 25/10/2022 16:49

Let’s hope Rishi clears more of the right wing crap out.

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 25/10/2022 16:51

Good.

Can't stand him.

GCAcademic · 25/10/2022 16:51

I want to know who actually votes for these people. I mean, who would actually stand in the voting booth and put an X next to Rees-Mogg's name?

55larry · 25/10/2022 16:52

He is actually an MP for North East Somerset and although most people on here don’t like him he is a very conscientious constituency MP and considerably better than the previous labour MP who didn’t have any answers for a group of A level students.

Oh...um...

Vile man.
Pretentious twat and like something from a Giles cartoon.
Stuck in the 1950’s.
A schoolmaster comes to mind.

Holidayexpert · 25/10/2022 17:02

Utter prick! I see gerbil faced braverman is now Home Secretary.
I hope this shitshow of a government collapses soon!!

Byfleet · 25/10/2022 17:03

@55larry so do you honestly think that a Labour MP who couldn't answer some A level students' questions (when? what does that actually mean? what questions?) is worse than JRM? I am sure JRM is 'conscientious' with constituents. That consists of making sure you answer communications and are generally charming. I have experience of what constituency work involves. But surely you can't ignore what he actually votes for and believes in though. He is a Machiavellian shit with a veneer of Downtown Abbey noblesse oblige. Surely nobody is stupid enough to fall for his schtick. Are they?

Holidayexpert · 25/10/2022 17:04

@Newcatbrowntail eh, nope. He’s doing the exact opposite!

SirChenjins · 25/10/2022 17:08

Hopefully this is the start of a return to a less vicious and less cuntish form of Tory politics - the damage this lot have done to the country defies belief.

Actually DB’s ILs do admit through gritted teeth that he’s helped them out when they’ve contacted him but the thing is they’ve never voted for him nor would they ever vote for him or another Tory MP.
