How do I stop looking awful all of the time

I just look hideous constantly.

I look tired, my hair always looks dull, lifeless and oily no matter what I do to it.

My skin is always full and dry yet greasy looking at the same time.

Whatever make up I apply (cheap or high end) looks shit.

My clothes are awful. I just feel hideous constantly and no matter how much I try, nothing works?!

@RosesAndHellebores hmm. I have had a couple of gins or glasses of wine daily for 40 years. Skin is genetic.

Well @RosesAndHellebores do most probably look stunning!

Just go easy on taking anything with B6 in it, it's very nasty stuff in too large doses. If you suspect any deficiencies I'd get properly assessed and treated for them.

Argh.
Never, never use a physical exfoliator.
Always use a chemical exfoliator. 1-2 a week or however much it recommends. Try glycolic acid or salicylic acid. You can also use these on your scalp as a treatment.
A low dose retinol at night.
Moisturiser with SPF in.
I'd recommend going on the Ordinary website and sending them a photo of your skin and a description of it and getting a personalised routine sent to you.

I used Dermatica as recommended on here and it didn't make one iota of difference. I think I must be the only person on the planet who never looks any different no matter what I do or don't do (I look mostly rubbish I hasten to add!)

this Is fun!
so, what about, 1 night a week pampering. I do this and have encouraged my daughter to start too :)
get to a yoga class, a nice one, with supportive lovely instructor… once home, run a bath, hair mask, face mask, de fluff, light tanning moisturiser, nails, brows, teeth whitening!
my night is Wednesday. Wear best pajamas and into bed with clean sheets. Bliss

for this, you obvs need someone on kid duty! If you haven’t got this, you have my sympathy ;) you’ll have to wait a couple more years

youll get there, don’t worry!

Just on the hair front here, are you double washing your hair? Wash one it won’t lather much, rinse that (doesn’t have to be mega thorough) then do a second wash, it’ll lather up really well. As PP say, apply conditioner to the ends.

I swear by bed head shampoo and conditioner, they’re huge bottles so good value. I’d recommend getting the red or blue set for what you’ve described.

Rinse hair with cold water, if blow drying use a nozzle and always blast with cool air. Cold water and air sets the hairs surface flat which creates shine. A small amount of argon oil to mid lengths and ends is great as well.

Hope that helps with the hair. And on a side note you’re keeping a group of humans alive and working your arse off, remember that and don’t be too hard on yourself!

Just to point out with cold water and air, it’s just at the end of washing/drying. Don’t torture yourself and end up with hypothermia!
