What to wear for bottomless brunch!?

I'm going for bottomless brunch this weekend and it's the first time I've been properly out since having my 4 year old!

What do people wear for these kind of things now!?

It's at a city bar and I'm in my late 20s if that makes any difference

Just a top, surely?

Watchthesunrise · 21/10/2022 22:21

Yeah I came on here to say no pants.

Purpleavocado · 21/10/2022 22:21

Something stretchy!

I went with my DD to a city centre cocktail bar mid afternoon on a Saturday a few weeks ago, and not only was I surprised by how busy it was for the time of day, but also by how dressed up most people were. I was v pleased I had worn a dress!

Enjoy your brunch!

gillsareforfish · 21/10/2022 22:25

Something with an elasticated waist. Yeah I'm greedy.😂

Iamthewombat · 21/10/2022 22:25

Not sure where you are but in the north the bottomless brunchers are super dressed up, as if they were on a Saturday night out.

If by city you mean The City in London then most people will be in jeans or other equally causal stuff, the only people dressed up will be those from out of London on hen dos etc. If from another city I gather people dress up more.

MrsPelligrinoPetrichor · 21/10/2022 22:40

If it's London then no one will be dressed up.

There is way more than one city in the UK you know Grin

"...I gather people dress up more" Grin Have you never actually been in a city that's not London in the evening?

Sure, London is way more casual, but not every person not in jeans is on a hen night from Another City.

I only tend to hear this stuff from people who have blown into London themselves at some point in the past and are hell-bent on being More London Than Anyone Else.

Hence 'bottomless'

notacooldad · 21/10/2022 22:46

I wore a jumpsuit and my dr Marten Voss sandals. I fitted in just fine. I had a big effort with my hair and make up.
I am significantly older though!

HeyMicky · 21/10/2022 22:50

Flat shoes

Sleeveless + blazer/cardi/jacket - I always get over heated drinking

Nothing that requires sucking in or sitting up straight

MrsEricBana · 21/10/2022 22:50

I have only recently discovered that bottomless brunch means that for an extra £X you can get unlimited amounts of certain drinks with your separately bought food for, say, 90 min. I thought it meant unlimited food.

MrsEricBana · 21/10/2022 22:51

(So no need for elasticated trousers!)

Bobbybobbins · 21/10/2022 22:51

Definitely not a tight fitting waistband!

Buttons294749 · 21/10/2022 22:52

Flat shoes for stumbling home in

PremsDhaba · 21/10/2022 22:58

It depends how posh the bar is I suppose. I just wear what I'd normally wear to go out for Breakfast/Brunch. If it's posh posh maybe some smart trousers and a top. But with flat shoes for stumbling out in.

Magn · 21/10/2022 23:02

Bottomless booze or food? I'd say a nice dress would be fine either way, think going out for afternoon tea type.

happygertie · 21/10/2022 23:32

Not night out dressed up but also not Saturday walk round the shops casual. I would go with the staple jeans, nice top, blazer and heels or dress , tights and heeled ankle boots

Hence me asking if the the OP means a city centre or The City.

Well having lived in London for 15 years (and not having moved far to get there) then that is my main point of reference. And having been to multiple bottomless brunches all over town I have seen very few people dressed up ‘for a night out’ as other posted have commented happens in other places, that were not obviously visitors.

I don’t go for nights out in other cities frequently but when I do I note people generally dress up way more than they do in London, hence me asking the question about where OP is referring to as it really does make a difference. Even out of town I would dress very differently for Brighton or Bristol than Leeds or Newcastle.

AnSionnachGlic · 22/10/2022 00:51

Is it just me , but why is there such a superior attitude from people from London, who would just wear the most casual of wear to any event. If you dress up and make an effort with your appearance, you obviously are from " up North" or out of London ( and therefore haven't a clue!).
