Has anyone been to see the theatre production of My Neighbour Totoro?

Has anyone seen this at the Barbican yet? I’m taking my seven year old daughter in January as a birthday treat and I’m really excited about it.

I'm back home after watching the matinee - it was truly excellent and if I could get tickets (& had the money for them) I would go again.

Does anyone know if this will tour the UK? I think my dds would love it.

Oh, I do hope it tours or transfers to the West End. I love Totoro.

I'm loving reading about how everyone is enjoying this show. If it hadn't been for this thread I might not have got in to purchase tickets before they sold out. My DP is a huge fan and this is a Xmas present. I found a beautiful hand made pop up Totoro card in which I'm going to place the tickets. it's going to be such a surprise.

My own wish is for there to be a live cinema screening; I’d love to be able to take my six-year-old.

It says on the blurb it's a limited run, but surely if it's sold out they might consider it?

Or do the RSC just not operate like that?

My 8 year old really enjoyed it and no problems staying up late and the long show. He loved the puppetry had such a look of wonder in his face. He said it felt like we were inside the film.

Lovely to hear of yet more people enjoying this truly magical show. My teen and I often wish we could experience it again! I’ve wrapped up hoodies and t-shirts as Christmas gifts so I can’t wait to see my children’s faces.

My daughter got cheap tickets and went with a group of friends. She said it was amazing.

I haven't been but my workmate went and said it was absolutely magical and wonderful. From his description it truly sounded amazing and I wish I could go.

DS and I watched the trailer when it was released, we couldn't afford travel to London as well as the tickets but I think I'll start a special savings pot in the desperate hope it comes up north... Would absolutely love to see it, so happy to read all these rave reviews!

I was given Soot Sprite earrings for Christmas - I do hope that I can get to experience it all again & I'll wear them.

I haven't, but museum mum on Instagram who I follow and get lots of days out tips for my 6 year old from went the other day and said it was the best show they've ever seen, which I'd say is high praise indeed!

Just got home from seeing this show. The best show I've ever seen. Magical, wonderful and enchanting! So detailed and intricate. A must-see! I want to go again!

I went on Thursday. I loved (among many other things!) that it was so playful. I don’t think they could have improved on it. It was wonderful.
