I think people should all do it in hard mode as it ensures you always use the letters you had before. Probably not fair to compare hard and non-hard streaks (being super competitive here 😅).

I don't have hard mode switched on but I stopped using elimination words a while ago, I've lost my streak more often but I like the extra challenge.

Happy with a 3 today, 2nd word was very helpful and I chose the right word for number 3 out of a few possibles

I did not deserve to get it this morning! Was a complete numpty and didn’t use my one yellow letter until I was desperately trying to figure it out on line six and I spotted it. What a numpty!

Is there anyone young and sharp who remembers all the past words? I often think it would be useful.

There is an archive, I believe. I can only remember the daily word :) STEIN and SPIEL that we had recently stand out for being different. As I commented already, it seemed we had switched to Vordle!

I usually play in hard mode even if I don't have it turned on. I would use an elimination row on row five if things are looking grim, however. I play out of interest and for the friendly chat here. I'm not too attached to my streak anymore! Really not bothered.

I didn't know hard mode was a thing, but I usually use the letters I've had before anyway.

It popped into my head straightaway for line 3 and I almost discounted it, but that nagging feeling wouldn't leave. So what's the word for thinking of it and actually following your instinct?!

Looking at the archive whilst trying to solve it would definitely be cheating. I remember a few words but I wonder if it had been around thirty years ago I would have
remembered more or less all of them. I suppose I would have been busy with other things. I don’t like hard mode because, as you say, you may need an elimination word on row five.
