Just that!
for me, dd and dh (gluten free, lactose intolerant and nut allergy!)
it’s about £100 per week but we shop at Waitrose GrinBlushill break it into categories

essential food: £80 (meals, fruit, COFFEE , breakfast etc.)
non essential food: £10 (hot chocolate, baking things, fancy bread)
household stuff: £10 (bin bags, paper bags etc.)

so that’s £400 per month

add smol subscription
(£15 pm)
and trip to zero waste shop (£50ish)

£475 ish per month

Sounds fine to me

Passthecake30 · 20/10/2022 20:32

Probably getting close to £600 a month, 2 teenagers who eat more than the 2 adults, mid growth spurt. Includes treats for Friday and Saturday nights, 2 bottles of wine and 6 cans of beer a week. All packed lunches. One of us is dairy free. We’ve reduced eating out since the kids wanted 3 course adult meals and we have weekly treat meals at home instead.

Bookaholic73 · 20/10/2022 20:33

Family of 4 adults. No dietary requirements or restrictions, and we spend £100-£120 a week.

DP, me and three cats, approx 80 a week but I do waste money when I pop in the shop during the week.

40andfit · 20/10/2022 20:35

Varies lots here. Average around £160 a week. 2 adults, 2 young children who love soft fruit. Kids will only drink Oatley milk.

Comedycook · 20/10/2022 20:37

£150 a week I think now... family of four...one is a teenage boy! He eats a lot!

Shop at Aldi/Lidl with an occasional top up in Sainsburys

Cactuslove · 20/10/2022 20:37

Me and my boys (4 and 2) between £40 and £50. I'm very organised and strict.

user1487194234 · 20/10/2022 20:37

2 adults 2 teens £200/week for everything

MassiveSalad22 · 20/10/2022 20:39

Not including takeaways and school dinners around £120 a week. Always more than £100, rarely more than £150. Obvs includes household stuff. Baby formula occasionally as we usually get it sent direct to us on a subscription. 2 adults, 3 kids inc weaning baby. Tesco. Top up shops vary but we try to avoid!

Quicknamechangequery · 20/10/2022 20:39

5 of us here prob about 130 a week once you add in top ups, can be more if my dh does the top ups (buys nicer food than me 😂)

Chattycathydoll · 20/10/2022 20:40

£200 a month for absolutely everything. Used to be £120 Sad bit stressed as I can barely afford this. I get one big delivery a month (can’t drive) and a weekly top-up of milk, bananas and stuff.

Rosycheeks21 · 20/10/2022 20:40

£70/80 for two adults 😳 we shop at ASDA.

mizu · 20/10/2022 20:42

2 adults and 2 teens (6th form) £90-£110 a week.

Fooshufflewickjbannanapants · 20/10/2022 20:42

4 adults, 1 15 year old and a 9 year old and spend £50 a week or less.

HappyMarriage · 20/10/2022 20:43

Family of 6 here (although one is a bf baby so no food but plenty of nappies) we spend between £120-£180 a week at sainsburys. That includes nappies and wipes for two kids

muchprefersummer · 20/10/2022 20:45

2 adults, 2 kids we normally sit around the £80 a week all in. However we also bulk buy wine and DH makes his own ale.

Vanillazebra · 20/10/2022 20:49

How on earth do you feed 6 people for £50 per week or less?

Azandme · 20/10/2022 20:51

£40-50 a week for all shopping.

Me, dd11, a cat and two giggly pigs.

PotatoFamily · 20/10/2022 20:53

£200 a week easily. We have a lot of people coming and going at various times, can sometimes be four adults and three teenagers here of a weekend

UserNameNameNameUser · 20/10/2022 20:53

2 adults and 2 adult-sized teens. If you’d asked this morning I would have sworn it was £120 per week (including household stuff), but this afternoon I went through 6 months worth of card statements categorising things and it averages at £180 per week 😱

It was the “extra shop to top up the cupboards” every month or so that tipped it over the edge, along with “just picking up bread and milk” while getting petrol. I suspect a lot of people spend more than they realise unless they keep very detailed records.

Fooshufflewickjbannanapants · 20/10/2022 20:59

@Thatsnotmycar
I buy veg boxes for 1.50, meat when yellow stickers and share it into portions in freezer, I add oats/lentils/pearl barely to chillis/stews etc,
So this week we had a chicken on Sunday then, chicken pie Monday, pack of pork chops (reduced) Tuesday, chilli Wednesday and pork casserole today, tomorrow is fish and chips I use the veg box through the week and sometimes get another on a Thursday,
Kids have egg or cereal for breakfast, take pack lunches I only buy cheap loo roll/mouthwash/toothpaste and we are not really label orientated with regards to anything, when I was a single parent left with £10 a week to feed 4 little ones we all learnt to enjoy what we had,

JourneyToThePlacentaOfTheEarth · 20/10/2022 21:02

5 of us including 2 older teen boys. About £170 a week. £120 in aldi and £20 each in m&s and tesco. Desserts/ cake/ treats from the former, packed lunch snacks and crisps from the latter. An increase of about 40 per week. Nightmare
