Lamb mince, tin of tomatoes, 2 cloves of garlic, bit of rosemary lamb/ beef Oxo cube, onion, splash of red wine. On high for 4 hours. Serve with tagialelle.

Love mine for lentil soups and curries. You get a lovely depth of flavour.
Did a fab thai yellow curry the other day.
Best thing EVER if you have a toddler or baby as if you need to attend to them while adding your ingredients you can without everything burning.

Watchthesunrise · 19/10/2022 22:06

oh I like a good old fashioned corned beef in the slow cooker

Ifyoudreamofsanddunes · 19/10/2022 22:09

I should also add that we're taking it skiing with us this Christmas, so would be great to throw ingredients in before we go out for the day. Usually gone for about 8 hours

Hidden veg sauce. Onions, carrots, celery, garlic, mixed herbs, peppers.. Anything looking past it in the fridge. Couple of jars of passata. Chuck it all on low and leave for a few hours. Blend. Freeze and use for 'tomato' and basil pasta sauce or Bolognese, chilli, enchiladas, etc...
Also soups. I put in all the ingredients in the morning and come home to a vat of soup. Lentil, broccoli, scotch broth are all yummy!

This is the best slow cooker pulled pork recipe of all time.

My friend Beth Setters wrote it. She died very suddenly and very young last month. I made it when I heard of her death. It was like a ritual. It really is the best pulled pork slow cooker recipe ever.

We tend to stick to bolognaise and chilli in ours so I’m watching for inspiration!

the gammon thing, do you literally just put it in with a can of coke or bottle of cider?

Made this slow cooker chicken curry the other day. I also put a couple of potatoes in and then mashed them up to thicken the sauce - v v nice and really easy.

A useful tip is to use much less liquid than you usually would, and what is often stated in recipes.

I'm going to try this as it sounds really tasty. I've tried a few pulled pork recipes recently to try and find my favourite but have yet to find one that really hits the spot.

Gooseysgirl · 19/10/2022 22:58

We had beef goulash last night and it was v tasty! Cooked on low for six hours in ceramic pot slow cooker (I reduced the amount of beef stock by half though so that the sauce wouldn't be too watery) Recipe from The Batch Lady link here, lots of great recipes on her website - worth a look!

Following , as I need to move on from stews and curries

AriettyHomily · 19/10/2022 23:06

Taming twins beef and ginger noodles and chicken curry noodles, all the recipes actually.

TroublesComing32 · 19/10/2022 23:10

All of the above sound great, however it’s also fine if you just chuck chicken breast and a cooking sauce in if you haven’t time to make anything from scratch, curry or Spanish chicken with added peppers and onions go down well.
