Not the point of the thread but 'if you could change your name'? In theory, anyone can change their name, although I appreciate there might be the consideration of not wanting to offend the people who bestowed it on you.

I'm reasonably happy with my name.

inthemiddlepiggyinthemiddle · 17/10/2022 19:53

Rowella, ever since I saw Poldark (in the 70s)

Celeryandhummus · 17/10/2022 19:54

Happy with my name nowadays but as a 7 or 8 year old I wanted to be Dutch, and called Cornelia. God knows why 😂

Whistlesandbell · 17/10/2022 19:57

Kim or Nancy.

TheYearOfSmallThings · 17/10/2022 19:58

I like my name, but I would have made a very good Louise.

I already changed my name ;) cut ties with abusive family and chose my own name, sur and middle names included. So liberating!!
If I had to choose another it’d be Magdalena. OTT pretty.

Imissmoominmama · 17/10/2022 20:11

When I was a child, I wanted to be called Lucinda. I’m not sure I could be bothered to change it now though… although I would like the surname Plantagenet.

My real life name is the plainest three letter name imaginable.
Throughout my early childhood I wanted to be a Jane (named my favourite doll that) but in my teens I would have loved to be an Alexandria. Never told anyone this.

My parents divorced when i was 11, my mother remarried and had a daughter. Guess what her name is?!
