Is getting a full time role WFH realistic?

How many people do you know with a full time WFH role

Getting up early to get into the office is really taking its toll. I wake up at 7am, leave at 8am, and get home at 6.30pm. I am looking for a complete new start soon doing a role that is creative and WFH.

I am skilled in marketing and writing, I flourish working alone and am very introverted so find meetings are very draining.

WFH full time for a national charity. We have no offices and all work from home including our marketing & comms teams. Very occasional team meet ups/workshops but otherwise all home based. Seems increasingly common in the charity sector where flexibility and work-life balance seem generally good - although salaries are lower than similar corporate roles.

Yes it is but I would suggest you would need to compromise a bit at the start and then have those discussions with your boss so choose to work somewhere where it's ingrained into the culture. I'm full time wfh - I pop into the office occasionally but totally my call. Others go in every day so it's left to go the individual. We're a large organisation with people based all over the country so location isn't too important.

Starting somewhere fully remote is hard. I WFH and have done for 10 years, some full time, some part time, and two job changes. WFH for me has included a fair amount of travel, lots and lots of meetings; and the sweet spot for me is part time WFH with some office / travel. WFH full time can be really isolating and you don’t necessarily have time flexibility, and it’s still hard to fit everything in. I get up at 5:30 and do all chores etc before I start work at 8.

I run mktg for a small tech co. I do one day a week in the office, four at home. It works perfectly well for me, and most of the small tech companies I know are running the same system.

Why pay for a large office when we don't need one.

Maybe try a more tech focussed industry, where it's regarded as the norm.
