So far everyone thinks their older sons are lookers!

Think you've got your answer there 😅

Eh?
they are all adorable squishy things when little and move into being gorgeous things when adults…doesn’t need any more analysing

bottleofbeer · 14/10/2022 22:22

Want to see photos? 😆 okie dokie. Message me.

Elderly ladies used to look at my toddler ds and say "those lashes are wasted on a boy "😂

I hate when people say this. Why shouldn't a boy/man have lovely long eyelashes? Why isn't that an asset to them too? The subtext is that it's 'feminine' or unmanly, which is very strange for a feature that's common to both sexes. It's so weird.

Oh good I was joking. I don’t actually want to be looking at anyone’s sons to try and work out if they’re good looking. Can you imagine?
Do not send me any pictures.

Hungrycaterpillarsmummy · 14/10/2022 22:26

I don't think it's weird at all to ask..

My boys are just 3 and 11months and honestly they are super duper gorgeous and definitely will be when they are older too 🤩
My MIL says my husband, her son, is gorgeous and I've seen her taken sneaky photos of him once when he was sleeping on a sofa (sitting upright) and she tried to hide what she was doing.
I found that very strange tbh but I guess she was just thinking of him as her handsome son

Sparklingbrook · 14/10/2022 22:27

Every young male child in my family has very long eyelashes I think it’s quite common.

bottleofbeer · 14/10/2022 22:27

Wha....? Mine did hit the genetic jackpot.

It hasn't bloody got him very far.

bottleofbeer · 14/10/2022 22:29

Sparkingbrook, bless your heart.

Didn't even occur to me.

NCAutumn · 14/10/2022 22:31

"I've got three. First is objectively extremely good looking. He has no luck with women.

Second is attractive and has a fabulous relationship.

Third is gay and I've yet to meet a boyfriend."

You seem to have completely missed out how the third one looks and instead provided us with his irrelevant sexuality.

antelopevalley · 14/10/2022 22:32

My teenagers are ordinary looking.

Pumpkinpatchlookinggood · 14/10/2022 22:32

4 adult ds's here. Very handsome..

Wellshellsbells · 14/10/2022 22:34

mine is still a teen and day to day I think he’s handsome because he’s him, but then I take a picture and his bio deadbeat father looks into my soul and I retake or delete the picture and pray he doesn’t get his inside ugliness.

mondaytosunday · 14/10/2022 22:36

My son is 19 and very good looking. He works in a independent clothing store and appears in their online pages modelling their clothes occasionally.

bottleofbeer · 14/10/2022 22:40

My third? Looks absolutely gay. Hth

You never hear a parent say “my child is no oil painting but they are so kind and have a lovely personality”.

If you were going to hear it anywhere, it would be Mumsnet

Potat0soup · 14/10/2022 22:41

They just grow into teenagers and you don’t really think about it any more. Would be a bit weird I think

Why is it weird? I never thought about it OP, mine are still children/teen and think they're all beautiful. But I am wondering now if people still feel the way when their child is 40 and has a beer gut and a bald patch! Do you see them as men? I can't imagine it. I feel like they're always be going to be babies in my head

Potat0soup · 14/10/2022 22:44

I suppose they're always going to be 50% genetically similar to a man you felt was good looking. So it's reasonable you'd think they were beautiful isn't it

BagpussBagpussOldFatFurryCatpuss · 14/10/2022 22:45

I think we are programmed to think that our DCs are lovely looking.
I can’t be objective…. I think that mine are beautiful!

Clockwatching54321 · 14/10/2022 22:46

I have never thought any of my kids are stunning or beautiful….I think I’m an odd parent.

i have had people say they are cute / beautiful etc but maybe as I don’t believe it about myself I struggle to see this in my kids. Therefore I doubt I will think my kids are stunning or maybe I will once they are adults and realise I wasn’t that bad looking when younger.

antelopevalley · 14/10/2022 22:50

@Clockwatching54321 I think I have always been able to be very honest about myself to myself. I am pretty much the same about my kids.

SusanPerbCallMeSue · 14/10/2022 22:52

I've never really thought about. I mean, I don't look at them and feel repulsed, so I guess they're not hideous. Grin

Obviously when they were tiny I thought they were the most gorgeous babies/toddlers ever.

DS3 would definitely look better with a haircut. He has a mullet. Just why?

justasking111 · 14/10/2022 22:54

They're all lovely my three they all inherited their grandfather's big blue eyes which are quite startlingly gorgeous. I remember friend saying they'd be heartbreakers. In fact they've had their hearts broken being softies. One is losing some hair which he's upset about.

They're all good men, partners and fathers. Which is what matters really
