Well. I'm just grumpy as I say and need to know some lovely stuff you're doing. I've been to watch footie with my son (his team lost), cleaned kitchen - chaos as husband on diet and making soup/ shakes and leaving it minging (telling off will ensue), dog was barking like mad at neighbour and I shouted at him so now feeling guilty and cuddling him and murmuring how sorry I am in his ear (please don't flame me here - I feel like crap now and only shouted "enough !!!" but feel like I'm horribly )
I'm now cleaning as if I'm grumpy I may as well be grumpy in nice surroundings !

On the face of it I'm well snuggly as I've a hot cuppa, under my electric throw the on the sofa, bar of chocolate and just started a film.

In reality this is my fourth day of doing nothing but this as I've got covid and I'm getting quite upset about feeling poorly now! I've missed an entire gloriously sunny weekend.

LadyMonicaBaddingham · 09/10/2022 14:09

I've just watched Hocus Pocus 2 (fab) and now I'm going to start cooking Ropa Vieja for supper tonight. Then while it's in the oven for ages I might find another film

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 09/10/2022 14:19

Can you take yourself out for a coffee?

We went out for brunch then had a nice autumnal walk. I'm now blobbing around for a while and will then make a big pan of veggie chilli.

Taytocrisps · 09/10/2022 14:27

A cosy Sunday here. DCats are snoozing. DD met up with a friend for a while and now she's back in her pjs and dressing gown and reading in the armchair. I cooked a big dinner yesterday so there are leftovers for today which means I don't have to cook dinner. I'm going to bake a spiced toffee apple cake shortly (first time to try the recipe). After we've had dinner and cleaned up the baking stuff, we're going to watch last night's Strictly. It's a horrible day here - windy and rainy - so it's the perfect day for staying cosy indoors.

Oh I'm sorry. Get well soon and I hope there's some relief to be had in the chocolate

Off to Google that. I've no clue what I'm making yet

DS has a friend round now so I'll sneak a bit of tv in after I've vacuumed in lounge maybe. Coffee alone sounds ace though

I might make a cake actually. Though DH will no doubt have to cross himself if he smells it/ goes near it. Typically he's losing loads of weight and smug too which doesn't help 🤣

If I can find my glasses, I'm going to get some writing done. Have a cup of coffee and a pretzel from lidl. Also have a headache but I'm ignoring that 😂

I called my dog a muppet this morning because he tripped over his own feet while running on the grass!

Takingturnstogether · 09/10/2022 14:34

I am lying on my bed, under a fluffy blanket, with a heat pack. Am uncomfortably full after eating baked potato and a bramble banana microwave sponge. Will probably have a nap later.

It is a good plan imho.

MaryDerry · 09/10/2022 14:40

I'm on the sofa, my youngest is on the other sofa. We are watching Stranger Things. They have a cushion for scary bits. I have a blanket.

I've not been well for a few days and parenting duties of entertainment and feeding have been very slack.

I know I'm not well, I don't want any of the chocolate car my eldest bought me.

howoriginal · 09/10/2022 14:48

I'm currently sat on my balcony, drinking my first coffee of the day and enjoying the peace while my husband has a lie in and my son watches TV in bed next to him. I've just walked the dog, and the weather is really cool and autumnal here (we live in a typically hot country, and I didn't expect there to be such a change in seasons but turns out to my delight that parts of the country actually get proper autumn weather!). I've got a new jumper that I'm going to put on after breakfast and a shower, then will probably read for the rest of the morning. This afternoon it's a friends birthday so we are going over there to have some cake and then possibly heading out for dinner with them and all our kids. Then back home, iron the school uniform, PJ's on, hot drink, bit of Netflix, then bed.

Livingonjuice · 09/10/2022 14:53

I have vacuumed and wiped sofas to make less doggie and now contemplating another brew before doing the ironing ! The calmness from your messages is really helping bring me down of the "it's all rubbish" "woe is me" train of thought 😊

Very happy day as DD2 is back on her first visit since going away to university. DH and I met her off the train and went for a slap up Sunday roast.

Now, DD2 and I are snuggled up on our new navy sofas, she's napping and I'm working on my new Ehrman tapestry. DH is making us a pot of tea. It's overcast outside so I've lit candles and it feels very cosy.

doitwithlove · 09/10/2022 14:55

Done and put away the weekly food shop.

Two x loads of washing done.

Garden furniture & empty garden pots/hose/garden lights put away till next year.

The coming weeks dinner menu sorted.

Still to do -

Sort my bag/lunch ready for work tomorrow.

Fresh bedding to be put on & clothes put away.

Bag/parcel up unwanted clothing to be returned.

Email friend with a two month catch-up of what's occurring.

Finally catch up on TV recording

MintJulia · 09/10/2022 14:57

So far I've helped my ds with his maths homework which involved me pointing out that q.1 was wrong, him yelling he hates me, me working through the question, him yelling at me again then admitting he'd got it wrong. Him redoing it, then me pointing out that since q.3 relied on the answer to q1. he needed to do q3 again. More loud complaining.
Ironing, cut the lawn and made a lamb casserole for tonight. Off to a karate class shortly.

I love Sundays 😂

pictish · 09/10/2022 14:59

I can join in today. Have made a pot of soup and an apple crumble for later while listening to some Simon and Garfunkel and reminiscing (happily) about my mum. We’re about to go out for a blustery, autumn cycle in the nearby country estate before coming home to watch the season finale of The Rings of Power with dinner already prepared.
Nice. 👌

HeyMicky · 09/10/2022 15:04

It's DDog's birthday. MIL (who DDog loves) visited and gave her tummy scratches, then she had a huge walk where she drank canal water and barked at a swan. Basically her perfect day. Tonight she can lick the blood from the roast beef off the carving tray

Nutsabouttopic · 09/10/2022 15:04

Very wet and windy here. Only one of our dcs here. Having a lovely afternoon. Gave Dh a list of Netflix codes which caused him great excitement ( hes easily pleased 😅) and he found a Frankenstein movie. So currently after a lunch of toasted sandwiches dd and dh are on the two couches watching movie and I'm in a recliner with the dog half watching movie, scrolling through phone and dozing. Dinner prepped because two other dcs will be home after work

girlmom21 · 09/10/2022 15:10

I took the kiddos and ddog out for a long autumnal walk and a play in the park while DP a lie in. Came home to him cooking a fry up. We've basically then had a lazy day and I've had a snooze on the sofa

Needhelp101 · 09/10/2022 15:13

Beautiful autumn day here. I'm currently relaxing with my best mate and youngest son in front of vintage Men Behaving Badly after home-cooked (by best mate) duck pancakes. Will collect oldest son from rugby later, drop both at ex-husbands and bestie and myself will make our way back to his for wine, more nosh and no doubt more vintage British comedy.

Hope your day's improving, OP :)

legosunqueen · 09/10/2022 15:36

Lovely autumn day here. Washing out & kitchen cleaned. Cooked breakfast for DS & DH, then DS & I took DDog to a secure field for a runaround with some friends - was relieved that the weather is good as the field is on the edge of the moors & can be brutally cold! DH is recovering from a hand operation so is on very light duties. Poor DS who thought was getting a cold has developed a fever this afternoon so has had a bath & gone back to bed...will be covid testing this afternoon. Later I will cook a roast dinner for us all, including our Ukrainian houseguest who is loving Yorkshire puddings & gravy!

Just harvested some more beetroot and am making www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/spiced-beetroot-orange-chutney

I'll try and remember to come back and let you know how it turns out!

lifeiswhatitis · 09/10/2022 15:52

I've done 3 loads of washing, made spaghetti bolognaise and my DP made some lovely garlic bread to go with it. We have my DS (21) for dinner so making the most of my few hours with him.

TheDogsMother · 09/10/2022 15:54

We got back late last night from holiday in South of France. I have many loads of washing on the line and am in the garden in a summer dress. The lovely weather here makes coming home a little easier to bear. I've also replanted the pots out the front so they are pretty for Autumn.
