I just love a ring thread!
My DP and I got married last month, and I'm waiting for my wedding ring to come back from the jewellers as it was a little too big.

Whilst I'm waiting (and missing it!!) I'd love to see yours!

So many beautiful and unusual rings😍Mine are quite simple and traditional but I like them, white gold and diamonds.

So many beautiful rings on here. And lovely stories behind them. I had a sad loss in the last year and my lovely interest got me this.

My DH made ours. The wedding bands have a secret engraving on the inside 💕❤️💕

Ooh, I LOVE these! Extra special that your husband made them, too. Talented man.

@mumof2andstillsurviving Thankyou very much. They are not my originals, they're long gone, but these are the ones I'm comfortable with. And I much prefer silver. 🙃

ZerotoSixtySnail · 09/10/2022 05:08

Some awesome rings on this thread.

I love my slightly Art Deco ring, the diamond and sapphire were passed down from my great Gran, which we had reset into a platinum setting. I love it.

The story behind yours is beautiful, how special @Mymysmum

Thingsthatgo · 09/10/2022 07:48

@jools85 if the ultrasonic shook a gemstone loose, then it was only being held in place by the gunk and willpower!
Much better to loose it in the ultrasonic than for it to fall out any other time.
I would always sieve the water from the ultrasonic just in case!
We use the ultrasonic to test our setting work sometimes!

Oh and covet covet @emevol Those are beautiful.

This isn't my original engagement ring because it is at the jeweller being resized so I have been wearing a decreased aunt's engagement ring that she very kindly bequeathed to me. DS1 calls it my 'Frozen ice castle ring'. It's aquamarine and diamonds.

Oh my goodness Aunties ring is my ideal engagement ring. March birthstone and diamonds.

I have no contribution yet one day maybe lol. All you'll rings are beautiful.

Lndnmummy · 09/10/2022 08:55

@TheDogsMother this is one of my favourite looks. Your ring would look stunning with a plain band, a deep one to match the "thickness" of the eternity ring. Google eternity ring with plain band and you will see loads. It is so chic, love it. You could also add another eternity ring in different shaped diamonds. There is a lovely set by @Ihaveoflate on this thread too. @Ihaveoflate I love your set! Here is mine, all rose gold. Still going strong 20 years later

I love the gold ring with stars. Simple and unusual

Loops82 · 09/10/2022 09:16

Congratulations to all those newly engaged and wed, and to those still in love (with original or new partners).

Here's mine. 'Wedding' band was designed for me using metal and diamonds from a ring from OH and one from my Gran on my 18th, and drawing from the design of my mum's art deco eternity ring (hearts). I love it so much.

The eternity band was designed and made abroad, chosen by my OH while deployed and brought home for my 40th birthday this year.

I feel very lucky and love them!

So many beautiful rings ❤️

Here's mine. Opal is not actually my engagement ring (antique emerald too delicate to wear every day) but one I bought for myself. Love seeing every one else's.

I love opals, although many say they are unlucky. Also, why are they always on hold rather than silver/white gold/platinum. I am not crazy about gold myself, although my first wedding ring (had to be cut off - too fat!) was g opp l

MollyRover · 09/10/2022 09:39

@Loops82 those are beautiful 😍

Noeggsontoast · 09/10/2022 09:40

All 3 are platinum, we chose the diamonds for the engagement ring and anniversary band and had them set. The engagement ring in London, the anniversary band in New York on our first anniversary trip. They placed sizing beads on the inside of the shank of the anniversary band so it never swivels.

I love everybody's rings, all as unique and individual as we all are.

Sorry I am using my kindle and it went bonkers with typing and managed to post by its self - it's possessed!!!!

so as I was saying... Don't much like gold myself although my first wedding ring was gold. It cost £30 for both our rings in a closing down jewellers in 1993! Bargain!!! A few years ago due to fat and health I had to have it cut off, but hubby presented me with a slightly wider silver ring. Just plain but I love it. The only jewellery I wear. I always wanted an engagement ring though, but it never happenef.

EstellaRijnveld · 09/10/2022 09:45

All these rings are just so beautiful. 😍😍

I'm pissed off my dh hasn't bought me an eternity ring yet. Off to drop heavy hints! Keep on posting ladies, reading this thread has made my weekend!

I wish when people quoted a post to say how much they liked a particular ring, it also linked the photo. I am spending far too much time scrolling back to look at ones people are commenting on.

bakewellbride · 09/10/2022 09:55

Not an engagement or wedding ring, this ring contains some of my sons ashes,he passed away from Cancer age 22 last November and so it feels right to wear it on the finger connected to my heart ❤️.

That's a lovely ring with a lovely meaning for you. I make glass beads that contain remains of people or animals and they are so precious and important to their owners. The ring you have is very pretty, simple and tasteful - nobody would guess there are ashes within it unless you choose to mention it. I am so sorry for your loss hun x
