To me it means stuck on their own view and forceful in trying to push it. Whether that’s a good thing or not depends on whether I agree with their view!

That’s not what ‘formidable’ means. Do you take offence regularly when people use words that ‘to you’ mean something different?

@MrsMontyD 🤣🤣

I’ve been described as formidable and I have also described other women as this. It’s a positive and means (to me) someone who can’t be pushed around and will stand their ground. It means strength to me.

To me it is that you get things done are not to be messed with and sometimes a bit of a pain but in a way people admire and often have a soft spot for ( mostly) . Would you feel pleased to be described like that.

Doingmybest12 · 01/10/2022 19:43

Force of nature

Doingmybest12 · 01/10/2022 19:47

I mean a pain in a good way, don't take no for an answer and fund away round if needed.

Depends. In a work context maybe if it was an attribute that would be respected in the profession for example a barrister. Most other professions are more nuanced and need more flexibility. I wouldn't like that term attributed to me in my family/ personal life.

LadyHelenaJustina · 01/10/2022 20:39

I’d be happy with that.
