Don't go in to the water. Crocodiles off the North Yorkshire coast

www.yorkpress.co.uk/news/22996639.mum-insists-saw-three-huge-crocodiles-swimming-sea-off-filey---experts-brand-sighting-vanishingly-unlikely/

Experts have said that it would be extremely unlikely that crocodiles which are cold blooded would like the cold North Sea.

Unless this is an unexpected effect of climate change and warning oceans.

But we all know what we think of experts. And why wouldn't they want to explore Yorkshire and its amazing coastline Grin

(Or it could just be a log. Or plastic)

’Experts have said that it would be extremely unlikely that crocodiles which are cold blooded would like the cold North Sea.’

But these are Yorkshire crocodiles, not nesh southern (hemisphere) crocodiles.

Exactly

If you watch enough River Monsters you’ll know that it’s nearly always a cat fish.

We were in the Lakes at the time of the disappearing geese, and chatted with the steamer skipper who had seen it happen: 3 birds on two separate trips, all around the same part of the lake. Local wisdom was suggesting a big dog otter, but one of those massive catfish could be a possibility!

"Crocodiles are tough as owt" ...

A few years ago an alligator was fished out of a lagoon not a million miles from me, but a considerable distance from where he should have been. He was christened Chance the Snapper.

It's not even a hoax, a woman posted on our local moan page cos her friend who was staying in a nearby holiday camp was convinced she had filmed crocodiles, she was laughed off the page and people are still posting random items saying they're crocodiles and to beware 😂

Letsdorevenge · 01/10/2022 22:30

Not sure what that link is though, looked like a page of code starting with 'bootstrap' ... might be dodgy... Confused

ValerieDoonican · 01/10/2022 22:55

Are those not giant turds? Perhaps a turdberg even??

Letsdorevenge · 02/10/2022 10:54

The link is to a news article. I went down yet another big cat rabbit hole whilst googling that link and I've found a sighting a few days ago not far from where I live!

SudocremOnEverything · 02/10/2022 11:35

@Letsdorevenge that looks more like a giant rodent than a cat of any description.

Letsdorevenge · 02/10/2022 12:50

@SudocremOnEverything I don't know but I really want it to be real!
There's a video if you Google it and it looks like it'd chowing down on something..frightening

That’s a black lab licking it’s balls.

Letsdorevenge · 05/10/2022 22:18

It's in the Daily milk today but looking closer it now looks like a cow to me

Emotionalmessy · 05/10/2022 22:20

Well in fairness I saw a large turtle basking in a murky lake in Stamford Hill the other day, so anything is possible.

Now this I do believe!

BingoLingFucker · 05/10/2022 22:36

We have escaped wallabies near us, even though we know they’re around it’s still a bit of a shock when you catch sight of one.

I grew up in an area with lots of big cat sightings. The theory was that wealthy people bought them as exciting pets and they escaped.

PotatoFamily · 05/10/2022 22:39

I have a photo of a small croc(cayman) living locally in a tidal river 🤷🏻‍♀️

It’s a cow, a steer to be exact. If you look at the video on a high res screen, it’s clearly a bovine. The ‘tail’ is actually its hind leg stretched out with the leading edge facing the camera. As it moved its head to lick you see it’s horns. The sheep are also also unperturbed. It looks small so probably an Aberdeen Angus or a Belted Galloway. 100% bovine.
