I have the basic one from Argos which takes a while and can only just got one load on.

Is it worth buying a cover for that one of getting a super duper Lakeland?

Which model is best?

Me plus 2 DC in the house

Thanks!

I have the 3 tier Lakeland one. Had it for about 7 years and works really well for us. I have the cover too but don’t use it. It’s in a utility room so the room heats up and seems to work well with a clothes horse around it as well - 2 for 1!

Now I've just heard about a Dri-buddi and am even more perplexed Confused

How long does the Argos one take to dry a load?

lovelilies · 27/09/2022 16:38

More than 24h in a box room with a towel over it and the window open so it's not great tbh

Is it the one with the cover or just the metal frame

lovelilies · 29/09/2022 18:57

Mines just the frame. I do stick a towel on top if I have one

I had a dri buddy and didn't rate it.

I saw a hack the other day where someone put the clothes horse against a radiator and made a cover with a bed sheet.

DoodlePug · 29/09/2022 19:08

I have the Lakeland 3 tier one. If its in my kitchen it takes a good day to dry a load. It is much faster (prob 8 hours) if covered with a large sheet or double duvet, or obviously the real cover sold for the purpose.

Better than a normal airer but really unimpressed.

Lakeland do a tent like thing with a hot air pump, that's probably a lot better but read the reviews.

I will continue to use my drier otherwise I will disappear under laundry.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 29/09/2022 19:13

I have a black and decker one which is good.

Quackpot · 29/09/2022 19:47

I hated my Lakeland one. Made the house so damp. Went back to a condenser dryer and only use it when it's too rainy to line dry

Liebig · 29/09/2022 19:51

Get a dehumidifier and leave it in the room with the washing. Meaco Arete is excellent.

Flamingmentalcats · 29/09/2022 20:08

We bought the Argos Habitat large one a couple of weeks ago and would take it back if I could, it's rubbish. Having to fold things so they lay On top otherwise I am always turning them and who has time for that?! Also, it makes my towels smell like cheesy feet. I think because a lot of people on here love theirs I got sucked in. Would rather put the dryer on for an hour and pay a bit more than have the heated airer on for 6 hours plus and all the faff

scrufffy · 29/09/2022 20:08

I have the Lakeland one and it's shit. I'm looking at buying a drier.

Liebig · 29/09/2022 20:51

Driers are horribly inefficient. At least with a dehumidifier, it’s purifying your air, drying your clothes, removing damp from your home, and as a benefit, also heating your house too better than any space heater.

That's why it only comes out when it's pissing down. The rest of the time clothes dry fine outside
