The strangest thing someone said to you that sticks in your mind

Over 35 years ago a workmate of mine a bloke asked me why I was off the day before and I told him I went to a funeral of a relative.

As we talked he said his brother had died when they were both in their early 30's and then blurted out "I did not go to his funeral." (They both lived locally to the other) I asked him why not. He said, "he was dead he (his brother) would not of known.."

The guy was not joking and it has stuck in my mind since - the bloke was a good workmate we had laughs/chats but that made me feel uneasy and funny about him

We were on holiday at a playground in a sort of animal park. DM, DDs, me, another mum with presumably her mum and DC there only. Her mum launched into a pointed rant to her daughter but looking across at me at the time, about parents who are obsessed with designer clothing and dress their children in designer clothing. I was wearing clothes probably from Sainsbury's/M&S and DDs were in their finest Primarni at the time. 😅

When I was working as a shelf stacker I had a lady insist I am German.. I know my heritage which is Swedish / British but no, she insisted for 20 minutes that I am in fact German because she studies x y z so she knows for certain.

I'm tall and I wore plaits was her reasoning.

My sister and I had someone INSIST we were twins.
She was so persistent that we gave in to her in the end. She clearly knew better than us!
