Ideas for Disney suprise

TomAllenWife · 22/09/2022 21:17

A few months ago i mentioned to ds2 about going to Disney (his favourite place)
He said he would go without anything for Xmas if he could go

Since then I've told him I can't afford it

So now I need some ideas for Xmas to suprise him

If he comes down to one present he'll know what I've done
But if I wrap lots of random stuff or empty boxes I think he'll catch on too

Any ideas? (He's 13)

I don't understand. Surely his present is the holiday to Disney?

JamesBondOO7 · 22/09/2022 21:30

You mean another holiday/trip ticket to a them park possibly in the UK?

JamesBondOO7 · 22/09/2022 21:30

Theme park

TomAllenWife · 22/09/2022 21:34

No sorry to be so confusing

His present is going to Disney
But I don't want him to walk into the living room and guess straight away

Why?

PigsInBlanketyBlankets · 22/09/2022 21:37

The trickery will ruin it. It's better to have him walk in to just one envelope plus a stocking.

Suprima · 22/09/2022 21:37

A load of killjoys on this thread

primark has good Disney bits for Cheap

some travel essentials for the trip? Mini toiletries?

Snowdropsarelovely · 22/09/2022 21:40

Bits for the trip - Disney themed clothes ? A suitcase? How old is he?

YumYummy · 22/09/2022 21:41

Primark Disney towel and PJ’s, sticker, colouring or reading books etc etc.

SilverPeacock · 22/09/2022 21:42

Aw nice surprise for him either way. I think what Suprima said

YumYummy · 22/09/2022 21:42

Autograph book.

Br1ll1ant · 22/09/2022 21:43

Disney pin badges and a lanyard

PigsInBlanketyBlankets · 22/09/2022 21:44

I thought the point was you don't want him to know. Surely when he opens a Disney towel or whatever he will know anyway.

He said if he could go to Disney he'd be happy with nothing extra. He thinks that's not happening so when he walks in and just sees that one envelope (get it blown up onto a banner at Max Spielmann if you must) he'll be so made up.

Obviously have him a stocking ready and maybe some travel bits

SNWannabe · 22/09/2022 21:47

What about presents whose initials spell out DISNEYLAND…though I’m struggling to think of examples. Could be small things if you were saving money…

Diary
iPad cover or iPhone accessory
Slippers or socks
Novel?
Edible money or Ear buds
YoYo
Linx spray
Aftershave
N?
Donut maker

PigsInBlanketyBlankets · 22/09/2022 21:51

Unless it's DISNEYWORLD 😂

EricaGeorge · 22/09/2022 21:54

This is so lovely :)

you could do things vaguely travel related, like some holiday clothes, comfy trainers or flip flops, airplane headphones, toiletries + bag, wallet with a couple of euro/dollars inside, book (for the plane) and then you could get him to step back and figure it all out. You could even wrap up his suitcase (or buy one if he didn't have one) and tell him to pack it all inside. Or the last present could be a calendar with mickey mouse stickers on your travel dates?

You can get cute little scratchcards on etsy that reveal the surprise- that might be nice :) you could pop it in a passport cover?

TomAllenWife · 22/09/2022 21:57

I am loving these ideas thank you

It's DISNEYWORLD so I may try and work out some gifts that spell it out

But also maybe keep it simple is best, one envelope or box, wrapped with a Disney related thing inside

I got my daughter a Minnie mouse balloon, tied the tickets on the ribbon, wrapped it up in a box.
When opened the balloon and tickets float out.
She loved it!

TomAllenWife · 22/09/2022 22:01

@RainbowToes I love that ❤️❤️

OP posts:
PigsInBlanketyBlankets · 22/09/2022 22:05

I honestly think simple is best. How is he going to know his gifts spell DISNEYWORLD? You'll end up explaining it all "the lynx is for L, geddit?" while he sits there thinking wtf is she on about.

The balloon idea is a decent one. Get one huge box and a big helium balloon

ShaunaTheSheep · 22/09/2022 22:06

Everything in stocking to be Disney or USA related - candy, socks, toiletries. T shirt etc

Giant balloon, as suggested above.

And my favourite if slightly bonkers - after they've gone to bed on Xmas Eve re-do the tree with Disney decorations (try Primark for cheap baubles).

DP surprised us with our 1st trip to Disney when I was 12. DF wrote a series of riddles and placed them around the house on Christmas Day. DS and I didn’t click til we read the final one found under DMs pillow. I still have them all 34 years later and it’s still the best Christmas present ever!

CocaColaMocaMola · 23/09/2022 06:24

Definitely a balloon! I did that for my ds, got a
massive box, wrapped it up and put a balloon inside I’d had made with DS WE’RE GOING TO DISNEYWORLD) on. He loved it

towelhammer · 23/09/2022 06:28

@sparkli that's a fantastic idea.

What's the point in buying stuff just to try & trick him?

towelhammer · 23/09/2022 06:28

Or the balloon idea is decent.
