Anyone else who can’t go to see the Queen lying in state wish they could?

I’m in NI and the flights + a hotel would be far too expensive so I can’t unfortunately.

would have been nice to have gone and paid my respects though.

Me.
I live abroad and am suffering from Hyperemis in early pregnancy so can't even leave my bathroom... I've got the live feed on constantly which is a bit crazy but makes me feel closer to what's happening in london.

*What exactly do you see at the vault as opposed to a usual grave at a cemetery?

is it basically just like standing outside a door into a big room just like you’d be standing at someone’s head stone at their graveside?*

The vault is underneath the ground, so you can't see the coffins. There are markers or monuments dedicated to each Royal. It really is stunningly beautiful inside the chapel. If you ever go to Windsor, I'd definitely recommend the castle ticket. They do an audio ticket for the chapel, which is a really interesting listen.

My disability rules it, the journey and queuing would be far too much for me. I will watch the funeral, at home.

Oh I’m totally going to have to go. I looked up pictures on Google.

there’s like a plaque on the floor that has her mother and father’s Names on inscribed on it. I take it the vault is right below it?

I wonder how far beneath the floor it is. It is interesting

Does anyone know someone in real life who went? I don't know a soul. The whole thing seems bizarre to me. Everyone I know works, who are all these people who are taking at least a day to go and stand in queue to see a coffin? Are they all retired or unemployed?

Maybe people booked the time off work as they had holidays left to take. Just a thought.

I'd love to go but I can't get down there. I love the queen and it would mean a lot to me to pay my respects to someone who gave me so much pleasure and lifted me when I was down. I'm not worried though.
We will meet again.

Hmm

It's been strongly hinted now that the route from London to Windsor will be on normal roads rather than the motorway. This will enable thousands more people to line the route and watch the Queen's coffin pass by.

The routes should be revealed soon to enable people to make plans.

That's a good thought too. Maybe I'll be able to do that instead of london or Windsor. I'd still like to go to London, but I just don't think it's doable for me, especially on my own. Sad as that is.

If I went to London on Sunday night does anyone reckon It would be enough time to see her before her the lying in state finishes on Monday morning?

It's a risk. The queue was closed this morning, so there's no way to predict whether you'd be able to queue anyway.
