I've just thought of a massive HP plot hole

We know that Harry can summon Kreacher. Why doesn't he use Kreacher more when they are in the run?

Particularly to send messages to the DA at Hogwarts? Since Kreacher lives there, surely Harry could send messages, get info and use him more?

I must be missing something as to why he just forgets about him.

Will the Minister of Magic attend the Queens funeral? Do they recognise the Queen as Head of State?

I don't think so. They call the PM the Muggle Prime Minister, which implies that they see it as a parallel system covering the same geographical territory as the Ministry rather than something wizards would ever answer to. I suspect the Minister might attend the funeral, under a different title, and of course the auror assigned to guard the Muggle PM would probably go as a bodyguard.

I love the idea that the minister for magic is attending the Queen's funeral and the Queen/King (and none of the rest of the RF) know about wizardkind. The scene at the beginning of book 5 where the prime minister meets the MoM was so good Grin

I wonder what would happen if someone in the RF turned out to be a muggleborn witch/wizard. Would Hogwarts just think it wouldn't be worth the extra hassle and not send a letter? Would they go with some extra security people (I have no idea what security presence is used for the junior royals at muggle boarding school)? And if so, who? Aurors? Squibs with nothing better to do?

The poshest person we know of in HP is Justin Finch-Fletchley, whose name was down for Eton, I suppose some foreign royalty could be there. It always struck me as odd how few non-British kids there seemed to be at Hogwarts, compared to the average boarding school, but I can't really remember what they were like in the early 90s, maybe there were fewer foreign pupils in general.

I've actually thought of another one !!!

When Harry pulls the sword out of the frozen lake .... He is literally magic ! He breaks the ice with magic! Why couldn't he heat the water ? Or at least shield himself from it in some way 🤷

Because he's not really all that good at magic (other than duelling).

Had it been Hermione, Ginny or Luna, they would have done the sensible thing.

Or maybe we just suspend our disbelief in order to enjoy our visit to JKR's imagination. 😄

Maybe there isn't a spell for that? Spells are still being invented, we know that.

Also bear in mind he's a 16yo who hasn't finished school Grin

Harry's own logic (which may well be right) is that the task needs to be arduous in order to prove that he (or, in the event, Ron) is a worthy Gryffindor and therefore will be able to use the sword. That's why he's not surprised when a summoning charm doesn't work.
