Fast food included.

Our family loves going to Harvester or McDonald's

Scared to mention it to be honest as all mine have closed, at least near us; Carluccios, Cote, Cafe Rouge. I was probably the only person in the country who liked Jamie's.

If I'm staying over for work I try & get a table at Brassserie Blanc but please don't tell anyone.

@MissConductUS Sadly no Chick-fil-A over here that I know of (I love Chick-fil-A!!!)

Gruffling · 14/09/2022 00:09

Ikea's in house, cafeteria style, restaurant!

It's really the only stress free eating out experience when you have young DC and no one to babysit.

In fairness, I'd rate a plate of their salmon over some of the stuff in the chains named here.

Thanks for the answer, @AnotherRoadsideAttraction . I love them too!

The kids' favourites are Pizza Express and Las Iguanas

Stressybetty · 14/09/2022 00:38

McDonald's for quick drive through. pizza hut for cozy sit down although DH doesn't like it. Hate Pizza Express, always freezing cold, hard surfaces everywhere and echoey. I want to be warm and comfy eating pizza not perched on a hard chair with a knife and fork

Wazzzzzuuuuuuup · 14/09/2022 00:51

Yo sushi, Nandos or Bills for brunch. However... There are almost always better places to go, more diverse menus and more reasonably priced.

I get that it is useful to have a consistent go to for if you are travelling with dcs etc and just need something reliable, however, you will almost always find better local offerings

Busaba Eathai (oh my God, the calamari…) or Wagamama

TheSpringyGuyAndTheCheeseEater · 14/09/2022 01:18

Ping Pong

Longdistance · 14/09/2022 01:22

Wagamama’s here too.
McDonald’s for fast food.

fallinover · 14/09/2022 03:05

McDonalds
Five Guys
The Ivy ( ended up accidentally eating in different versions two nights in a row when back in London, but enjoyable food)

Fluffygreenslippers · 14/09/2022 04:21

Top three are probably

Tim Hortons
Nandos
Wagamama

Roselilly36 · 14/09/2022 04:53

Zizzi

teezletangler · 14/09/2022 05:20

^Tim Hortons
Nandos
Wagamama^

As a Canadian this really made me laugh. I don't think Tim Hortons would be on many people's list over here!

I miss British chain restaurants. With a few exceptions, chains on this side of the pond tend to be burgers and pizza. We don't have the same choice of reliable, "nicer" chains. On the flip side, we tend to have a better selection of independent restaurants even in smaller towns.

RIP Jamie's, I loved it!
Wagamama, Zizzi, Strada, Leon

HappyHappyHermit · 14/09/2022 05:34

Las Iguanas, can't believe it hasn't been mentioned more but maybe there aren't all that many around?!

pinkbear95 · 14/09/2022 05:37

Mine used to be Garfunkel’s but they shut all the ones in London during Covid and never reopened again💔

DFOD · 14/09/2022 06:03

Spaghetti House

HRTQueen · 14/09/2022 07:27

Pizza Express
Wagamamas
KFC
McDonalds
Wimpey

SantanaBinLorry · 14/09/2022 07:37

@gogohmm
Of course....London, then the rest of the U.K Wink
I too don't think a few branches in the capital counts as a chain.

WooWooWinnie · 14/09/2022 07:42

Five Guys
Wagamama
Zizzi, altho I’m very disappointed they’ve got rid of their fried courgette!

Thinking about it though, my favourite chain is probably the Lounges. They seem to be popping up everywhere now - I love all their breakfast dishes!

AMessageToYouRuby · 14/09/2022 07:57

Itsu, Pret, Le Pain or Ole & Steen for grab and go type places
Flat Iron, Dishoom, Wahaca & The Ivy Cafe for sit down meals

If we're doing places which just have very few branches, I'll cheat and say Bancone. I hope they open everywhere and spread carby deliciousness nationwide.

HelloTreacle9 · 14/09/2022 08:00

Kids love Five Guys and Wagas. Cote is reliable and good value. Leon is the best. And we all really miss Jamie’s Italian, so much free aperol spritz and free kids meals and freebie starters, no wonder they went bust!

Nooq · 14/09/2022 08:30

Subway, I know it's crap, I get just the veggie delight so just the salad for filling and cheese, so it's boring too, they must put crack in the bread, I can never turn it down.
Pizza express.
We don't have either of them where I live but whenever I've got a trip down to Inverness I get subway and pizza express and have a carb party.

Furrybutts · 14/09/2022 08:37

Pizza Hut
Macdonalds
KFC

I could live off those 3 places if I wasn't health conscious.

louderthan · 14/09/2022 08:57

Cote and Browns are great
Bill's for breakfast (I remember when he was a curmudgeonly green grocer in Lewes...!)
ASK is probably my favourite chain Italian
Also love Wahaca
