P1 in Scotland, state school in a village. 12 children and two teachers who job share, so only ever one teacher at a time. The school has TAs who go around the classes as needed.

My DD is now in year 2 but her reception year was 44 split in two for registration then joined throughout the day. This was between 1 teacher and 1 HLTA. No one was thrilled and we were even sent a letter with a tone of how unreasonable we were being to even query the setup.

Just to add we’re in rural Essex by the way. There’s currently 3 mixed classes of y1/y2.

This isn't the schools usual ratio though as they usually have 30 children but it was a low birth year.

My son moved between nursery and Reception but his old school (small village state school) 10 in the Reception class (just one class per year) with 1 teacher and 1 part time TA. His current school (much bigger) has three classes of 30 with 1 teacher and 3 TAs
