There was a chap at the 2nd proclamation today wearing such an outfit.
My dad, a history buff, is stumped and won't be able to sleep tonight give it now transpires he doesn't know EVERYTHING!
Is it a religious leader? Or some sort of court judge?
Can anyone help him?
Thanks

Bore that’s EXACTLY what I thought. Some people are going to be very busy. I wonder who does it.

The commentators on the BBC coverage were talking about this. The design of the new cypher is created by the College of Arms and approved by the monarch.

They also said that the current Great Seal will continue to be used until the new design is created and approved, at which point the old one will be destroyed with a hammer. I hope they televise that Grin

I was cracking up a bit yesterday I’m afraid as they were reciting the plans for old seals to be used until new seals could be made 🦭

My sister said the same thing! She said it was less hiring thing they were real seals.

I stand corrected. Apparently Mgr is the lowest rank of Monsignor. He's wearing a different shade of purple to that of a bishop.
