Fireworks display - what food vans would you like to see?

I'm helping organise a fireworks display on bonfire night and we're expecting a crowd of around 1500 people.

We have stalls selling local hot dogs and burgers but this won't be enough, the queues were huge last year.

What other food stalls would you like to see? We have a cake stall and bar already.

Gyros!

Pizza
Doughnuts
Hog roast
Decent chips

I was in Newcastle recently, at the street food event, and the Greek gyros had queues round the block.

Loaded chilli and chips (meat and veg option)
hot donuts
mulled wine, hot cider, hot toddies, hot chocolate with options to add shots.

Proper veggie options on the bbq, none of that one slice of halloumi or random undercooked veg slices in a floury bun. And fried onions.

A stall selling Parkin, treacle toffee and black peas.

I think vegan would be a big hit this year.

But really , if burger and hot dogs are popular, then just do more of that. It will be cold and dark and busy and I imagine that there will be nowhere to sit. People will just want something hot and tasty to quickly shove in their mouths.

Of course you can come, the more the merrier !

It definitely needs to be fast turnaround as the event is only 2 hours long. It also needs to be easy to eat with one hand in a forks in the dark, so nothing too fiddly.

We thought we had Mac n cheese lined up - perfect bonfire night fodder I reckon- but they've got a problem that might not be resolved in time.

We've tried jackets and soup before and weirdly they didn't go too well, not sure why really.

We've got meaty options covered so something a bit lighter / veggie friendly would be good. Loaded chips could be a winner.

I'm vegetarian so wouldn't expect to be able to eat anything at that sort of event unless it was advertised in advance there was a veggie/vegan food van there. On the other hand if you had one and it was advertised I would definitely buy something to support it being there.

There was a vegan loaded fries van at silverstone recently for an event. It was really lovely toppings.

most of us didn’t even realise it was vegan until day 2!

Pizzas are a faff at those kind of events, they take too long. Jacket spuds can be a pain eating one handed.

at ours we have burgers, fish & chips, macaroni and a loaded fries van. Then as sweet treats candy floss and crepes.

I had the BEST food van food from a one that sold cheese on toast using local cheese. So good.
