Abcdefgh1234 · 28/08/2022 22:47

Crime Psychologist. I would love to know how is serial killer mind works.

i got degree in psychology and really want to pursue it. But after i have my DC i’m thinking twice now. Its bit scary to work with psychopaths 😂. I’m thinking of my safety. My children need me.

smelters · 28/08/2022 23:07

Speech and language therapist. Or occupational therapist. But I was no good at Sciences😕

MrsRhodes · 28/08/2022 23:11

Astrophysicist or software engineer as talented as Harold from Person of Interest. Sadly I am a middle aged woman working in a supermarket. Not sure either of those roles are within my grasp 😅

blueshoes · 28/08/2022 23:22

Assuming money is not an issue, I want to rescue people. I am not sure what I can do as I am only book smart. Writing a couple of letters may not cut it.

Sex therapist, I just love the idea of it & being able to help people with something so personal, & that can mean so much! Also, I am just absolutely fascinated by sex & sexuality, what makes people tick etc.

DianaGarageDoors · 28/08/2022 23:56

Opera director

Thighdentitycrisis · 29/08/2022 00:13

I would like to have a therapy dog and take him to different clients

or a gardener

Megapint · 29/08/2022 01:10

Police detective would be my absolute dream but I'm to old to start a police career now.
I currently work with youth leaving career & I really love it. There are some amazing young people out there who have had a really shit start in life. It's very rewarding to be the one who gets the call when they get the job or a place on the college course we've been preparing for.

Inarightpickleandpreserve · 29/08/2022 01:13

owner of a kitten rescue sanctuary

Megapint · 29/08/2022 01:13

youth leaving care not career. Bloody auto correct

HarrietSchulenberg · 29/08/2022 01:41

Artist/illustrator. I don't have quite the talent, sadly.

Noddy21 · 29/08/2022 01:46

Short term foster carer would be my dream job

brightnesses · 29/08/2022 01:59

My dream job is nothing at all. I wish I could get paid for merely existing.

No job is worth working at all. Unfortunately, I work because I HAVE too because of how society is set up

IglesiasPiggl · 29/08/2022 02:36

Being in charge of the gardens at a stately home, or being director of a small niche museum.

Oh yes, and if that doesn't work out, maybe you could hinder adoption processes?

katscamel · 29/08/2022 03:46

Travel writer/photographer/ Hotel 'tester' .... any job where I get paid to travel.

TravellingSpoon · 29/08/2022 06:18

I would love to work for the UK Border Force.

I always wanted to work in animal rescue and that's what I do. I notice it comes up on these threads a lot. I think a lot of people think it's a dream job because you would be helping animals find new homes and cuddling cute animals. The reality is a lot harder - many animals we deal with are not healthy, some have to be euthanized despite our best efforts due to them never being able to go to a new home. The pressure on our service from the general public is intense, we have huge waiting lists of animals to come in because people want or need to give up their pets. We get abuse from people for not being able to help them with their vet bills. Many animals come in sick, due to neglect or poor breeding.

It has moments where its homing success and warm fuzzy feelings. But a huge number of staff also have to have time off due to the pressure and stress of what we deal with daily. It's hard, but I still love what I do.

(a side note please rescue, don't encourage breeding!)

Forconfessingonly · 29/08/2022 06:53

I've always wanted to work in a Citizen's Advice Bureau. I've tried to volunteer over the years it has never fitted in with the rest of life.

Amei · 29/08/2022 06:56

If I won the Euromillions I would set up a couple of small businesses (maybe a cafe and a cleaning business) and employ homeless people and people leaving care and prisons.

I'd provide accommodation and pay them double minimum wage, but put half into a savings account for them. Then after 12 months I'd give them the lump sum so that they could use it for a car / house deposit / an amazing holiday ect.

Any profits made from the businesses would go towards Christmas bonuses for the employees and into a fund that would be there for any emergencies, or they could apply for a grant if they wanted to go to university/do a qualification.

That's my dream and I think about it quite often.

You sound absolutely delightful.

Forconfessingonly · 29/08/2022 06:59

Sounds like a great plan @Amei

I'll help with that when you win the lottery!

My daughter wanted to do it, and I definitely had to bite my tongue on all this. Also. Poo. Anything with animals has vast amounts of dealing with shit somewhere along the line!

(She wants to be a writer now.)
