I'm fairly settled on a Ninja400 - it's in my basket!

I've seen loads of people comment on here saying they use theirs daily but I'm a sucker for buying gadgets and need to be sure I'll use it!

I got rid of mine as it didn't fit my meals. I don't heat much ready prepared food up. I get a lot more use from a slow cooker which does a lot more than stews. Also I have a tabletop oven, very cheap and quick to heat up. I very rarely use my oven nowadays.

SoupDragon · 28/08/2022 10:53

I don't have photos but the fajitas from the recipe came with my Ninja 400 are excellent.

I've done perfectly cooked salmon in 7-8 mins (depending how cold it is in the middle after defrosting!).

sausages came out brilliantly in something like 20 mins.

i'm a total convert having been sceptical for ages.

Yesterday I cooked chickpea and black bean chilli. Did exactly the same in my Ninja airfryer as I would had I been using the stove. Fried garlic and onions first and then gradually added the rest of the veg and spices, threw in tinned tomatoes and 25 mins later it was cooked.

I use mine for everything - fish, vegetables, even the odd bit of beige and toasted sandwiches gets made by DD and thrown in the Ninja.

AuntieMarys · 28/08/2022 10:59

I'm following this. I'm going to do research today after being very sceptical, but having read the threads on here, I'm changing my mind about getting one!
There's just 2 of us, eat little meat and I do a lot of roasted veg/ traybakes

Oh and Best bit - no messy stove top, drips and spills to clean up or having to stand over and stir and just one pan to wash at the end.

I’ve had one for a while and my family are hooked on the potatoes I do in it.

I use a typically sized bag of baby/salad potatoes - scrub clean but don’t peel. Cut larger ones in half. Toss in a bowl with olive oil, then half tablespoon each of salt, black pepper, onion powder, garlic powder, half teaspoon paprika, half teaspoon Cajun seasoning, half teaspoon garlic paste. Air fry for around 20 mins @ 180. For extra flavour, I sometimes coat them after with some melted garlic butter.

PearlieQueen · 28/08/2022 11:45

Workyticket · 28/08/2022 12:44

@DoctorManhattan that sounds delicious!

I'm looking at the 400 as I'm hoping ds (nearly 11) will be able to use it

I got the 400 today. Cooked a medium chicken this afternoon in 55 minutes (would have taken 1 hour 40 minutes in the oven).

It was the best chicken I’ve ever cooked - can’t believe how moist it was. The basket was really easy to clean, there was hardly any mess in it.

The finished product

Furries · 28/08/2022 21:33

Tonight I did steak, mushrooms and potatoes with rosemary. Potatoes in one drawer, the steak and mushrooms in the second drawer. Set both drawers up using the Synch function and everything was ready in 15 minutes. The resulting meal was lovely, though the photo isn’t great.

I am not normally this extra agent, haven’t had steak for at least a year. But I decided to treat myself to test out the new gizmo!

Extra agent = extravagant.

onwardandupwards · 28/08/2022 21:47

We made a cooked breakfast in ours it did everything except the egg!

expandabandband · 28/08/2022 21:51

Slow cooked Japanese style pork belly was my favourite so far…

Ladypeg · 28/08/2022 21:53

We make an amazing pizza using a Greek pitta as a base with sun dried tomatoes and mozzarella ( they come together in little tubs but can use separate items if you can’t find them) and whatever we want on top- usually red onion, chillies and salami. That came from a Facebook recipe I think.

RayneDance · 28/08/2022 21:53

@Furries

I hated the chicken I did in mine.
What make is yours and how did you do the chicken

Ooh, sounds lovely - recipe/instructions please!

Battlecat98 · 28/08/2022 21:55

No photos but had mine 2 weeks and used it nearly everyday. Potatoes are great in it, jacket potatoes are so crispy, french fries are amazing. Done chicken with rubs, steak, pork loin.

Need to find some new recipes to try. It took me ages to decide I am so glad I did.

amicissimma · 28/08/2022 21:58

Tonight I had garlic prawns (3 minutes) and corn on the cob (9 minutes). Synced so no timing arithmetic.

Both the best I've ever made.

So good I ate them so no pics, unless you'd like a denuded corncob!

I have seen pictures of salmon done in an air fryer before and it looks really nice.

When done in the air fryer does it stink up the house for days like pan frying/grilling does?

edwinbear · 28/08/2022 22:04

No pics, but home made runny scotch eggs, crispy chicken wings, sausages, steak, burgers, the best cheese toasties…..absolutely love ours!

Soontobe60 · 28/08/2022 22:04

Tonight I’ve made 2 meals - one for my 2 yr old granddaughter, one for DH and I.

  1. chicken tenders in crispy coating with potato smiles - absolutely delicious and succulent chicken 8 minutes in total
  2. halloumi wraps with potato scallops. The halloumi was so much better than pan fried! 10 minutes in total
