First period - where to get period pants?

DD had her first period while she was visiting her gran.

She waited to get home to tell me, she was really proud about it!

I've agreed to take her shopping tomorrow so we can put together a bag so she can be prepared next time. I was hoping to get her period knickers from Primark but they seem to have stopped doing them, can anyone confirm?

And I looked on the M&S site but I could only find adult ones.

Will we have to get them online or are there any places that do them in-store? She's only 9 but wears size 11-12 clothes.

We're going for cake after shopping, I want to spoil her a bit.

Modibodi period pants are excellent. Their swim wear has also been fantastic.

But agree with pp about not needing to spend so much so soon. If she’s 9 and it’s her first period she could grow out of them before she’s used them. Pads would be fine for now.

If you really want to get them I’d say age 13 tends to be size xs not xxs.

My DD started when she was 13 and she uses period pants. I'm afraid high street versions just don't work properly and tend to leak. She uses Modibodi and swears by them, quite pricey to get set up with enough but so good. She's also got Wuka but they're better for the end when not too heavy. She's a dancer so likes the shorts as they don't move around causing potential leaks. I wash them on there own, 40 wash with no fabric softener as it effects the absorbency.

My DD (11) wears 11-12 clothing and can uses an XS period knicker from Pink at Victoria Secret.

very reasonably priced and I managed to get all of hers in the sale for £5 a pair

I've ordered two XS from Victoria's Secret. If they're too big we can just hold on to them till she grows into them!

I don't mind if she doesn't get a lot of use out of them, I just want her to feel she's prepared - will get her some pads too. Being able to see and hold something makes it much more real than me saying I'll order them for her if she needs them.

Seriously, modibodi are worth every penny. All the others are rubbish by comparison. That's from own experience and friends' too. All my dds friends have modibodi and swear by them.
