If so, come one, come all!

So, it's 26 degrees, it's the second night I've seen my eldest daughter in I don't know how long!

We're having honey soy marinaded steak, corn on cob, coleslaw, lettuce salad, and baby new potatoes.

What's on at yours?

Chicken and veg pies with garlic potatoes and savoy cabbage and gravy. (Ready made pies and garlic potatoes)

Twinstudy · 24/08/2022 17:46

Vegetable goulash. At least that's what I'm calling it 😄A veg stew with paprika might be more accurate. It smells good though and no Hungarians coming to question the authenticity!

I am definitely up for a lighthearted thread today. We’re having [cue Sean Bean voice] jacket potato! With tuna mayo and cheese. Nice and easy tonight as we are out and about all day tomorrow.

Chicken and chorizo paella

Butternut and chickpea tagine, cooked in slow cooker.

Do you have a recipe for this, please? Sounds lovely!

Jacket potatoes and scampi here. Living the dream.

Puffalicious · 24/08/2022 18:01

Just finished making a massive pot of minestrone (choc full of beans, pasta, cabbage, carrot, courgette and broccoli) with grated parnesan and sourdough bread. Will feed all 5 of us (rugby training for DS2 so he'll be late and DS1 and me have Covid so we can graze when we like) and lunches tomorrow. New York Cheesecake for afters.

ButteredJorts · 24/08/2022 18:05

Jacket potatoes here too!
DS will have cheese and beans on his.
I will have my favourite topping of sour cream mixed with red chilli, fresh coriander and spring onions, topped with lots of grated cheese.

Devo1818 · 24/08/2022 18:10

I just used up the left over roast chicken and roast potatoes by making a chicken, bacon and spinach pie.

It is now in the freezer and DP is going to order a KFC.

Shirty48 · 24/08/2022 18:12

Wednesday is baked potato night in this house. DH and DS have beans and cheese and DD and I have cheese. @ButteredJorts sour cream topping sounds lush though.

RaininSummer · 24/08/2022 18:13

Beans on toast as didn't want to cook anything.

Spanielsarepainless · 24/08/2022 18:14

Pizza and salad, then blackberries and custard. Blackberries picked 100 yards from the house.

Vampirethriller · 24/08/2022 18:15

A chip butty followed by blackberries and custard. And some Crunchy Nut peanut butter which is amazing.

Hasstrictlystartedyet · 24/08/2022 18:15

We’re having bbq chicken, potatoes, salad & baguettes, simple but lovely

Gufo · 24/08/2022 18:15

Pasta, pesto, peas!

TheMousePipes · 24/08/2022 18:17

@Saucery that sounds amazing, can I have the recipe please?
We’re having a lamb, spinach and potato curry with chappatis.

Violettaa · 24/08/2022 18:19

Mushroom Byriani. It’s from the Roasting Tin book, and it tastes amazing and requires about 3 minutes effort 👌

YanTanTetheraPetheraPimp · 24/08/2022 18:24

A handful of salted nuts and an apple. I cba to cook or rummage in the fridge.

SillyBub · 24/08/2022 18:26

We're having roast chicken with spicy rice and green beans. Previously fussy teen DS's palate has suddenly matured this summer and with me being on holiday (I work in a school) I have actually had time to try new stuff. Having an appreciative audience and time to potter and prep makes such a difference!

MissyB1 · 24/08/2022 18:26

Another one here who wanted to see what the bad food was!

We are having sausage rigatoni - It's a Gino D'campo recipe.

lickenchugget · 24/08/2022 18:27

prawn noodle soup and spring rolls!

moonlight1705 · 24/08/2022 18:29

Spanish chicken, potatoes and pepper one tray bake.

SurfnTerfFantasticmissfoxy · 24/08/2022 18:31

Made 4 lasagnes because it's my day off and dropped one off for my grandparents, Ken for our dinner with salad and two for the freezer. I don't often have the time to make time consuming things from scratch so it was quite therapeutic. DS 14 is starting his new school tomorrow and decided to make a cherry pie as his relaxation activity.....

Camomila · 24/08/2022 18:33

It's been a long day at work/holiday club/nursery for everyone so we are having pasta with tomato sauce, chopped up frankfurters, and grated cheese.

The DC will have some fruit after for vitamins.

Greaterthanthesumoftheparts · 24/08/2022 18:38

My downstairs neighbour got a good catch fishing this morning so he smoked me some fish for dinner and I have enough left for lunch tomorrow (lunch portion in picture), served with a fresh salad!
