Any finders about! My phone has disappeared into thin air

I've seen MNers in the past who can find things with their amazing psychic finding abilities. I'm desperate for help!

My phone has disappeared in my flat. Only me and toddler have been here. No windows or doors or post boxes in reaching distance for him. I've emptied everything, checked within and under everything. I'm absolutely flummoxed.

From all the suggestions it sounds like I'm not the only one to out their phone down in random places. I've located mine in my knicker drawer, the airing cupboard, down the back of the radiator in the downstairs loo, on top of the washing machine, in the ironing pile, in the food cupboard, under the Christmas tree. I clearly need to stop carrying my phone around.

Op maybe you could go and find some sticks and do that thing people do to find water?

Also, is your toddler old enough to understand “do you want to play on Mummy’s phone?” Either of mine would have rooted it out like a truffle pig once they could understand that sentence.

😂😂😂

Is it an old iPhone or new one?

Have you checked his toy box, underneath the settee? Come down to toddler height and see what hidey holes he could have spied as being a good place to slide a phone.

hotfroth · 19/08/2022 17:36

Give your toddler something of similar shape and size, and watch what they do with it.

YanTanTetheraPetheraPimp · 19/08/2022 18:23

Under the sofa/fridge/sideboard etc?

hedgehogger1 · 19/08/2022 18:24

Mine was in the fridge once...

LuluBlakey1 · 19/08/2022 18:37

Thinking where ours have put things:
Down the back of the tv
Inside shoes/boots
Inside of toys- car, toy box, zip mouthed frog etc
Under a rug
In DH's work bag
Under the fridge
In a jug on the sideboard (no idea how)
Pockets of jackets
Under their pillows
In the bathroom bin
Under the sofa
Under beds
On chairs where they have been tucked under the table

I once found DH's phone in a bag of dried cat food (DS1) and his work keys in the washing basket (DD).

It's 'down the side'. Standing on it's side, too. Side of? Feck knows. I'd try
Side of my purse (it's often there)
Side of sofa or chair cushions, or further down into the depths of the furniture.
Side of magazines, they often hide phones.

BanditBluey · 19/08/2022 18:50

Child's bedroom, under their bed etc if you had it when putting them to bed 🤔 top of the pram, in their change bag or nursery bag. In a shopping bag, behind the sofa. On top of washing machine, check pockets of clothes you was wearing that day

Jollyandbright · 19/08/2022 18:52

Have you looked down the back of the radiators?

WhatWouldTheDoctorDo · 19/08/2022 18:58

Have you pulled bottom drawers out in case toddler has put in a drawer and it's fallen down the back-side?

Posted in a DVD player if you still have one?

Under toddler mattress/down the side of bed.

In the freezer.

On it's side somewhere, hidden in plain sight.

Behind a radiator.

LiesDoNotBecomeUs · 19/08/2022 19:01

You could play a game where he has to hide something else... he might go to the same place.

autienotnaughty · 19/08/2022 20:13

Have you checked in side shoes, coat pockets, umbrellas

Mammyloveswine · 19/08/2022 20:18

Pray to st anthony... he never lets me down!

SausagePourHomme · 19/08/2022 20:39

between the head of the bed and the wall, lost mine there a few times

or laying on something black that camouflages it (car seat, black leather sofa)

coastergirl · 19/08/2022 21:08

I lost two sky remotes when my eldest was a toddler. After the second went missing, I eventually found them down the back of a radiator, completely stuck.

Haven't RTFT so sorry if I'm doing a 'cancel the cheque' but I always lose my phone while it's on silent and shouting 'hey Siri, what time is it' around the house has saved me on more than one occasion.

Siri answers loudly if your phone is on silent or not.

Belledan1 · 19/08/2022 21:40

Mine was in the snack box once.

My bastard doesn't.

Augend23 · 19/08/2022 21:51

I always end up having put mine on a shelf that's above eye level. On top of the fridge, or the bookcase or the shelves.

Exasperatednow · 19/08/2022 21:55

Could have got inside your sofa? That's where my DS earpods were. We had to cut a small hole in the underneath of the sofa.

ParadiseLaundry · 19/08/2022 22:09

@Dalint I've just mentioned this to DH and he said the same but his is a work phone so he doesn't tamper with it too much, can the feature be enabled? Although I don't remember actively enabling it on mine.

ParadiseLaundry · 19/08/2022 22:12

Have you looked if these are enabled in setting? First time I've looked for this.

Vitaminstrels · 19/08/2022 22:14

I usually discover my lost phone down the side of the sofa.
